- Only happy, cute, triumphant Gizmo allowed! Boom boom! No bad, mean Gremlins. Just our fuzzy, kind, crafty, and brave little buddy.
I made this highlight reel of cute Gizmo moments in 2017 for my bonus daughter, who was 3 at the time. We both love cute, fluffy things, so this was my way of sharing Gremlins with her in an age-friendly way.

Totally agree,I was heartbroken when I lost my little mate 16 and 3 months, his smile we got to hug and cuddles I miss my boy. I have my little Gizmo now to love and bring up since he was 5 and a week old and his now 8 months a healthy mussily little chiwawwa cross,. Baby Gizmo is a good boy I love him to bits.

it is true, but although they often have the possibility, they never kill him, perhaps because they recognize him as one of their own race

I've read that Gizmo was actually supposed to be the villain, but Spielberg thought he was too endearing and couldn't bear to make him bad, so the villain role was given to Stripe instead. The way Stripe and the other mogwais act is how Gizmo was originally going to be.

According to the novelization of "Gremlins", the Mogwais' cuteness was by design. They were designed to be the "perfect pets" and ambassadors of peace by the alien scientist Mogturmen. Unfortunately, Mogturmen had made some miscalculations that made most Mogwai wicked and mischievous; and also would cause these creatures to become gremlins if they ate after midnight.
I still sing this gizmo tune in my head after 37 years … I think it’s my happy place.

I don't know if it's officially part of the movies or not, but in the novelization of the first movie, it's revealed that the Mogwai were an alien experiment to create the perfect companion animal, but it didn't work. Most of the Mogwai end up being rather mean-spirited, and their evil Gremlin transformation was an unintended mutation. Gizmo is one of the few Mogwai who turned out as he was supposed to be.
Gizmo was the Baby Yoda/Rocket Racoon/Detective Pikachu for the kids growing up in the 80s and 90s, like myself. And he's still the best! This adorable l'il fella needs to come back to the pop culture 'cause he's missed.
I love how Gizmo says "Billy!",like he thought he wouldn't come back for him.

This movie is so perfect. The beautiful dog that's always so curious and the amount of joy and horror. The fact that these people can't take care of something so precious as Gizmo and the guy takes him away, but Gizmo knows Billy tried his best and just says, "Bye Billy". After pounding on the box. It's so fucking heartbreaking. They should have never made a sequel. People don't understand the message of the movie because like his family they are not ready.

Fun Fact: The voice of Gizmo was done by Howie Mandel and the voice of Stripe was done by Michael Winslow (the guy in all the Police Academy movies who did sound effects with his mouth).

actually Frank Welker voiced Stripe as well as Mohawk in the sequel. Winslow however did voice several of the gremlins in the first film.
