Definitely Team Disrespectful over here. My hair is very much like the lady getting her hair done. Very neat looking Locs once done but within a day or so..... bush bush bush. Even when my hair was loose, not even freeze gel could hold it in place. I have to laugh but I love what the Creator blessed me with.
I started out being team NEAT but it didnt take long for me to become team DISRESPECTFUL. I think trying to be on team neat has been a detriment. I have my first appt with Yannie and Jimmy in NJ this cycle and im so excited!!! I cant wait to meet the KING and QUEEN of locs!!! and find out just what kind of shape my little over 2 year locs are in. #disrespectfulandtotallyinappropriate
I’m team Disrespectful !!!!!…. And I love it Thank you Yannie for your knowledge and all that you do. I started my loc journey listening to your advice from RUclips and I have a healthy set of disrespectful locs for almost a year and a half going on two years and it has grown so much and they are healthy!Thank you I waited almost 5 years to start my loc journey because I didn’t want to have build up and I wanted to know how to do it the right way and how to have a healthy head of locs instead of neat looking locs that fall out your head and you then you have baldness. I appreciate you so much I love my Locs!! By the way my hair grows away from my locs and I embrace it
#TeamDISrespectfullllllll lol!! My new growth grows away from the loc as well! And I do not slick down NUTTIN! The combs and brushes in the house do not belong to me!! Amazing work, once again Madam Yannie!!
Team Disrespectful!!! Since you and Jimmy touched my hair years ago, my LOCS have become so Disrespectful and I LOVE THEM! I am counting the months until y'all return to Georgia. Thank you so much my Beautiful Queen Yannie and Jimmy!🙏🙏💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I used to be obsessed with neatness but for the last ten years, which is when I first came across your videos, I've been rocking it disrespectful. I still like the neat look but rock disrespectful 90% of the time. I wash, oil my scalp, separate and go now. Even when I twist my new growth it's stays neat for a few days, once I take the clips out, and back disrespectful and I'm ok with that lol. I've been loc'd 17 yrs, I've had some break off and start to thin from the interlocking I had been getting. I've combined them going from 200+ locs to about 50 locs and I love them so much. No one has touched my locs in 10 yrs but me and they are happy, thick and healthy.
I've always had DISRESPECTFUL hair. I had Jeri Curls, then a relaxer then locs. My hair always look like a lions mane, when my new growth comes in. The new growth would sit so big and high on my head. LOVE IT!! I do my own hair and never cared about my scalp showing and being super neat when I retwist. I retwist just to keep my roots from marrying too much. TEAM DISRESPECTFUL ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!!!
I just came across your video yesterday. I started my journey in February with short starter loc and I was team neat, I was trying to get my hair twisted once a month and when I was able to get a stye I was so excited. Yesterday after waiting your video 'Be mindful of damage ' I felt so guilty, I have been obsessed with getting my hair done and wanting it neat and cute. I got it redone today but I already made up my mind not to get it styled and after today to stop getting it done once a month, try my best to wait two or three months. I really don't have a clue to how often I should get it done because there isn't many people that does locs that care about the health of their clients hair. I love the fact that you care more about the health of locs then the money. Thank you for sharing Queen!!!
Hi Yannie, I have just started my lock journey and have been enjoying your videos . My hair behaves but my daughter’s hair is disrespectful. Because of your videos , I’ve stopped obsessing about getting every hair of hers in place . It’s been so liberating for the both of us! thanks and love from California
Both, I enjoy our beautiful hair from all sides but I realy don't like the creams. Yannie you changed my life you don't even know..thank you so much for your honesty, blessings from the Netherlands.❤
My hair is Tesm Disrespectful but I’m personally is Team Neat. My hair is soft like hers but hair still thick when I was younger, breaking combs in all. I still break coms but don’t use them anymore for retwisting, just the rat-tail part. My hair does grow away from the Loc but I’m too lazy sometimes separate after a wash but I have a huge fear of marrying locs. I’m opposite over her where I barely have any baby hair because it goes to into the Loc. I have accepted it finally, I’ll be 3 yrs in Nov and I think my hair takes 2 months to loc or at least that is when I notice my new growth has locd.🤷🏾♀️
Team Disrespectful! I have microlocs and love the thick full roots and not seeing my scalp 🤣 So glad my loctician understands/supports this about me... we retie when my locs say a retie is needed.
After watching your video on fuzzy hair i am team disrespectful. And i love it. In my country it's very hard to find some one whit the knowledge you have Yanni. So thank you for making sharing and caring. Greets from Europe.
I have different textures in different places... Part is straight and part is course...lol.. team disrespectful..! I watched your video a guy named Will..I absolutely looooove him. Loc goals...
Elyse (my locs) has been #TEAMDISRESPECTFUL from day one and I let her do her own thing. I listen to her when she needs something, wash, oil, etc. There's no set schedule, as a matter of fact, she really doesnt' like to get retwisted. She likes to be thick and untamed. lol
I’m team disrespectful. I’m two years locked. I’ve always had 4c hair but when my hair loc’d, it showed a different texture, I loved every stage of my journey. I followed your steps and my hair is almost bra strap. My hair doesn’t want to be touched/ styled so I let it do it’s thing.
I was Team Neat until I retired and then I let it go wild. My loc consultant at the time used to snatch up my locs and new growth and subsequently caused my hair loss. Thankfully, she moved to another state so I found someone just before the pandemic and she only loved the new growth but the damage had been done. Yannie brought me back to reality long before I had my consult with her through her videos. Once I finally had my first session withe Jimmy and Yannie I became Team Disrespectful! Love them for what they by sharing their knowledge about natural locs!
At the beginning I wanted my locs neat but when I asked the person to stop putting product in my locs she told me to go elsewhere. So I decided to let grow organically and separated every few weeks.
I'm team disrespectful! I've had my locs for 5 years and started them myself with two-strand twists. My mom and I actually started our journey together. I love my hair being free like my spirit! Letting my hair loc was the best hair decision ever. I feel so liberated and beautiful with my disrespectful hair! Waiting for Ms. Yannie to come to Georgia again, so I can see her and maintain the holistic health of my locs.
I am team disrespectful. My hair grows away from my locs and I have several different textures of hair. The front grows away and the back almost behaves. It's a struggle, but I love my locs. 😅 I am trying to keep my hair healthy. One day I will come see you. Can't wait! 😍
Very Disrespectful 😝 I retwist maybe 2-4 times a year! That's it!! It took me a while to truly accept the disrespect because even though I only retwisted every 3-4 months, I whined and complained about it & seriously contemplated cutting it. It took a personal revelation for me to accept it and now I am very happy with my locs! I've been growing my locs for almost 7 yrs and my hair is flourishing 🥰
Thanks to you I've come to grips with having Team Disrespectful hair. It took hearing you say often to aim for healthy hair vs. neat and over manipulated locs. I've let go and it's a nice feeling.
So, I have starter locs. I’m on week 4. It’s disrespectful. I run around excited that my hair is disrespectful. It’s like when I go to sleep at night, someone pulls all my grey strands out of the loc. I wake up and the hairs go the way they want. I love it. I am a drama teacher and a children’s hospital chaplain. I am not concerned at all about my hair being disrespectful. I welcome it. Come on wit it!!!! ❤🎉
Team respectful.I started with sponge with 1inch of 4b hair about 2yrs ago. I stopped using sponge after a month and free-formed ever since .Just washed & oiled occasionally is all it needs.
I’m team disrespectful but Yannie says my new growth grows with the locs. I don’t care, I’m so tickled I finally got them and pass the mental neat stage. I love the new growth now. Love feeling the crunch. It’s my new go to instead of cursing somebody out. It’s a soother for me. 😊. Love my Locs and all the information I’ve received from Yannie’s video. See ya in Oct! I’m 16 months in and obsessed with it!
I am team Disrespectful and I am learning to love it!❤ I am 2 yrs and 6 months loc’d,at first I was obsessed with getting it maintained, because I just couldn’t get use to the frizz, now I don’t care! I love the thickness of my locs . I would love for you to grace my head one of these days. Thanks for all the informative videos! Blessing to you and Jimmy!❤️
Ok, so I thought this was my 3rd journey, but actually, it's my 6th! However watching Yannie has taught me ALOT. I am now learning to be team disrespectful! My new growth grows away and my hair is soft and curly. I thought it was something wrong with my hair!!😂
My hair is very similar to Sue’s. I had accepted my fuzzy hair before I started my journey in August of 2022. I started mine after seeing your Mom start chunky locs for a woman. I always like my hair 2-3 weeks after it been washed and interlocked. Team disrespectful here.🎉
My hair is soft and disrespectful and I love it❤. I am not obsessed with my hair being neat because actually to me it looks better with my fuzziness and I get a lot of compliments with the fuzzy unkept look 😊
I'm a little of both. I love the way both look. Right now I'm new to locs and I'm not doing anything to it except keeping it moisturized but my hair stays covered so I'm just letting it do what it wants at this time.
I got that straight out the jungle hair..I ain't mad though lol. I love it ! And prime look at me like I'm from another planet saying you need a retwist and I tell them that their brain needs a reset! Go team disrespectful!!
My hair is #TeamDisrespectful. It's just like Sue's soft, and gray. As we know gray has a mind of it's own, and you look bald at the scalp while the locs are growing. I really had to get use to leaving my hair alone, and not retighting every 4-6wks. Since I'm the one that's does my hair. So I learned to stop being so obsessed. Sadly thanks to my hubby being in the hospital. So it took my attention elsewhere, and re-learn a behavior. My locs are 6yrs old, and they are starting a new journey. I started with a two strain twist, then to interlocking. It has worked for me until now. Last year my hubby spent 5mths of it in the hospital. Because I'm his caregiver, the stress of this showed up in my hair. So my locs has started thinning. I've listened to you Yannie for years now, and I've learned so much. My new loc journey has been to rest my hair as usual, let grow, I'm taking biotin, I will use black caster oil, water, and a leave-in black caster oil conditioner with lavender. I only spray that "maybe" once a week. I never make my hair/scalp over oily. Because my hair needs to breathe. Also I'm now finger retwisting with a water base gel, or just the black caster oil after my wash. Then only Air Dry. I NO LONGER INTERLOCK. THANK YOU YANNIE FOR ALL THE LESSONS I'M LEARNING YOU'RE A BLESSING. 👑💐❤️💜
Team disrespectful. I have been locked for three years not, I just let it be, it is not neat, it grows away from loc, I am so proud of my hair. It has gone through some transformation because of health issues, but i am remaining patient with it. I can't wait til my hair is fully gray all over.
I’m team disrespectful. Last a went a entire year only getting my locs retwisted once. As of yesterday they are neat for the 2nd time this year. A friend told me I look about 10 years younger. I think it the attractiveness but not twisted bring out the soul of me.
I am team disrespectful. Watching your videos confirmed that I had found my tribe. My hair is fine textured and also grows away from the locs so I plait in the new grow either 3 or 6 monthly (dependant upon the growth).
I’m finally accepting my disrespectful hair by expanding my hair loc timeline from every 3 months to every 6 months to let my scalp relax and just wash every 2 to 3 months but my hair grows with my locs. I wish I could show a picture of my hair.😊😊😊
📣Team Disrespectful Stand-up!!! Retwist Routine ⛓= Nov/Mar/July I'm able to achieve this, because my hair doesn't grow away from the loc. However, it unravels very easily, so I'm going to try rope twist to preserve my retwist... Thanks Yannie for the video
Fine, non-porous, wavy-curly and soft…..and it grows away from the Loc base! OMG that’s meeeee! Team Disrespectful! I’m over 7.5 years and sometimes I still struggle with it. It’s been two months since my last wash retwist (I put very little product in it - Rosewater and a wonderful oil), so I’m fuzzy and looking forward to home spa treatment this weekend!
I like both. I get my hair in a style with a retwist once every 8 weeks, then from there I don't use pony tail holders or anything or no styling, I just let my locs be free. I will use a scarf if I want to wear my hair up. Out hair is naturally frizzy so once it gets disrespectful I just let it be.
I was team neat until they started to fall out from thinning and became a product junkie. I've started my loc journey again, and I just want to leave my locs ALONE after seeing your videos!
I'm team disrespectful. Wearing perms all my life, big chop followed 7 yrs ago. I wore it short and decided I was tired of lack of styling options with short hair so I began my loc journey 5 years ago. I have the similar texture of your client's so when I get my maintenance every 3-4 months, I get double strand twists to make the "neat" look last at least a month. Then, no respect shows back up!! At 66, it's all good!
Team Neat here. I do love Team Respectful, it's just not for me. If someone is semi- freeform which team would that be? I have thought about going semi-freeform. I have thin, fine curly/wavy hair. Love your videos 💟 9 months in/Interlocked
I am Team Disrespectful 😂 My hair grows away from my locs! I had to get away from the thought of my hair being like it was with permed new growth! New growth meant it’s time to get it done. Yannie you made me know not to cut the fuzzies, temple hair (even if it grows to your eyebrows) and less is better! No products lol So thank you! #CancerSurvivor 💞 Loving my Locs
TEAM DISRESPECTFUL ✊🏾💯 I'm just starting out but my locs go for themselves 🤣 Don't really care for the neat look...I'll take it healthy and free 😎 Thank you for the knowledge, Yannie 🙏🏽
My new growth grow in my locs apart from two specific sections in the front that just don’t grow pass a specific length. And I am team DISRESPECTFUL all the way . I do it every 3 months and I will extend that time the longer my locs get❤.
I’m team disrespectful, my hair is also very soft and frays away after a few days of retwists. Roller set curls lasts about a week, plus my locks are now longer past my mid-back so curls don’t last long either. I’ve accepted, most weeks, but enjoy it when it’s neat.
TEAM DISRESPECTFUL ALL DAY ALL AFTERNOON ALL NIGHT ALL MONTH AND ALL YEAR! Uh……, ummm……, since I answered YOUR question Yannie, can you and Jimmy come up to Syracuse, NYC….please! We need you up here Yannie PLEASE!!!!😫😫😫😩😩😩🥺🥺😢😢😭😭😭😭😭Come on now Yannie my Locs need to be done and it’s to hard to get to you and I don’t drive😭😭😭YANNIE I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION PLEASE COME UP TO SYRACUSE, NY😭😭😭😭😭
Proud disrespectful I have soft fine hair has well it took almost 2years for my hair to complete loc. it take every bone in my body to not want to Retwist because of all the loss hairs. Braid out are my go to, it hides all the loss hair and gives u a cute style.
Team Disrespectful for sure. I started my locs almost 3 years ago and they still haven't completely loc'd. The hair does what it will and I'm flowing with it.
I started my loc's wanting the disrespect then cause they do what they want and I do too and that's just what it is and I love it. I do need to get better with keeping it moisturized and that what I've been researching that much but I'm #TeamDisrespectful#
I am so team disrespectful. I am the same as you I will get my hair done on a Thursday and by the following Wednesday it’s on the way back to disrespectful 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I have texture like Sue. I’ve been loced 2 years in May, it’s still frizzy and disrespectful and my baby hairs aren’t loced throughout my hair. I never style it because it’s so soft, I leave it loose. I’m gradually accepting the loose hairs and disrespectful frizz from being team Disrespectful. I wish I could fine someone like Yanni, but I’m in Dayton, OH….I had a dear Trinidadian friend that would say I had hair like a “doogla” too 😊
I used to be team neat but my hair is soft and it does what the hell it wants. I got my locs done too often and they were like bye!!!!!!I'm on my 4th set of locs and I've embraced the disrespectfullness!!!!!!!! I stopped doing the most and my hair is flourishing!!!!! I've been listening to Yannie, drinking water and minding my business!!!!!😂
Hi Yanni, I'm in the starter loc stage so I'm just stalking you right now. I'm going to wait until I'm a year in to make an appointment with you in Jersey. My hair is thin and course and I'm looking crazy right now. I just hope that my locs will become Disrespectful and Inappropriate one day. I'll see you next year!
I am team neat and team disrespectful. I start off as team neat and after a few weeks it becomes disrespectful. And I love them both. My hair is thick and I love my hair type. My hair will hold any hair style. I am not obsessed with team neat. When my hair is first done it is neat. I like my hair without styles. I have rolled for curls too much work.. It has been 5 and a half years. Challenge trying to embrace the grey. The grey is not everywhere . I love my loc journey. Not cutting my loc for another person.
I am team intermediate disrespectful (i get it interlocked once every three months, wash every month, oil every two weeks). But it does grow with the loc so that is also nice.
I'm disrespectful and I dare somebody to say something about it! It's helping me so much being confident in how my hair naturally looks and wanting to work at having healthy hair... but I do love the neat look Just don't need it all the time
Team disrespectful! I want my hair to actually be healthy and grow! I had a baby back in May and I don't even want to deal with postpartum shedding so I'm giving it a 7 month break. Also gotta set an example for the little one lol
For sure I am team disrespectful, I only maintain my roots every 5 or 6 months by myself with a crochet hook. Meanwhile, I don't care about neatness or loose hairs showing. I also have loose curly tips, and lumps in many of my locs, I think that adds more personality to each loc instead of having them perfectly cylindrical.
Team disrespectful. I have accepted that my locs don't have to often retwisted to be beautiful. I need them to be healthy. Healthy locs are happy locs. 😁
I'm team disrespectful 3 years loc'd. I started out neat until I came across your video at 3 months in. I don't even like the retwist look at all. I keep it covered most of the time. I have the thick, super course hair.
Disrespectful locs for the win. I love my disrespectful locs let’s me know I’m doing something right. Because my hair is thin but it’s been getting thicker and thicker ever since I’ve started leaving my hair alone.

Definitely Team Disrespectful over here.

🙋🏾♀️Team Disrespectful here!😁
👊🏿Forever!🏆
🤷🏿♀️ I don't feel comfortable with neat groomed tight locs!😂
👌🏿I'm naturally WILD!😄
Thanks 👑Yanni!🤩
I’m team disrespect I have to get my hair done every 3 months. But I embraced my disrespectful hair as part of my look ❤

I've been semi-freeform TEAM DISRESPECTFUL since 1995 and I wouldn't have it ANY OTHER WAY!!! Love u, sis!! Stay safe, strong and well x0x0x0x
Yes ma’am I’ve been doing the semi free form myself and I’m loving the low low maintenance 👍🏾

Team Disrespectful. After years of fighting with relaxers I went natural over 10 years ago. Started locs August 2022. 🌺
Team disrespectful! I love it and always have, many of my family are disturbed about it but that's their business😅

80 % team disrespectful 20% team tamed. Neat hardly ever. Love your content . ✨️
My Loc's have been in less than a year, "But, enjoying the journey. Thank's Yannie, for all the "Great Tip's!!😊

I’m Team neat. Love my locs regardless. Love your videos, Yannie.
Beautiful. Growing up I wish I was team neat. So much money was spent on trying to keep my hair neat
I'm team disrespectful! I've had my locs for 5 years and started them myself with two-strand twists. My mom and I actually started our journey together. I love my hair being free like my spirit! Team Disrespectful here and I love it! It wasn't difficult to embrace because I also like to think my hair is a reflection of my personality. A rebel😂
Same it feels powerful no lie

Ho Yannie, I'm learning a lot about my hair from you. So wish you had a cli ic in the UK.
I like what you say about not being able to see the scalp after a Retwist not the case when a locticion is involved
Here watching
Retwist Routine ⛓= Nov/Mar/July
I'm able to achieve this, because my hair doesn't grow away from the loc.
However, it unravels very easily, so I'm going to try rope twist to preserve my retwist...
Thanks Yannie for the video
Team Disrespectful present…I retwist 3x’s a year..I don’t care for extreme neatness bc I love the thickness of my roots..❤❤..My locs are 18 years
Fine, non-porous, wavy-curly and soft…..and it grows away from the Loc base!
Team Disrespectfully!!!! And loving it. Healthy locs
I was team neat until they started to fall out from thinning and became a product junkie. I've started my loc journey again, and I just want to leave my locs ALONE after seeing your videos!
I am definitely team DISRESPECTFUL SISTERLOCS because of Yannie!...yes...sisterlocs. 😆
I just started my loc journey and my hair is like your client- baby soft. Team disrespectful and I love it. Two weeks and I have fuzz🙂
wow, my hair texture is SO similar, right down to the curly-q edges! can't wait to see your GA dates so i can be blessed by Yannie & Jimmy!
Ooh I am team disrespectful! It used to drive me crazy but now I love it!! It's just me!!
Love your videos 💟
9 months in/Interlocked
Team Disrespectful ...I stopped fighting it ...Love the bushy full look. #lauryn hill barely so anything to my hair. 💙
Absolutely team DISRESPECTFUL!!! I have sister locks and prefer 8 -10 weeks vs the norm of 4-6 for retightening my hair.
TEAM DISRESPECTFUL ✊🏾💯 I'm just starting out but my locs go for themselves 🤣 Don't really care for the neat look...I'll take it healthy and free 😎 Thank you for the knowledge, Yannie 🙏🏽
Definitely Team Disrespectful!!! I haven’t tightened my locs in years 😂 just was and separate. My scalp is much happier 😊
Team disrespectful here!!! My locs does what it wants. My hair is also soft and fine...defined disrespectful!!!! Love your videos Queen Yanni❤
Proud disrespectful
I have soft fine hair has well it took almost 2years for my hair to complete loc. it take every bone in my body to not want to Retwist because of all the loss hairs. Braid out are my go to, it hides all the loss hair and gives u a cute style.
You give me hope! I have soft fine hair and just hit the one-year mark, and it's nowhere close to fully locing yet.
Definitely team disrespectful lol an I'm loving it😄💙
I am Team DISRESPECTFUL!!! WAS SO CLOSE TO CUTTING MY DREADS ....thank you for this video
please dont do it!!!
Team Disrespectful!!! I don’t want to see my scalp! 😂
I am team disrespectful! The people in my life seem to want me to be team neat and tidy. However, my hair does only what it wants to do. Lol
I hear you about the gray hair. Mine is all over and it seems to be coarser and my hair is all ready coarse and thick
@@BookishIntrovert63 yes, the same here. I call my grey in the front fight back grey 😆 . It always fight the color and win.
Team Disrespectful here! ❤❤❤ It took me 10 months before I went back to get them done! 🙂🙂
Team Disrespectful 😏 and I love it!! 😂
I am team intermediate disrespectful (i get it interlocked once every three months, wash every month, oil every two weeks). But it does grow with the loc so that is also nice.
💯💯💯💯% team disrespectful!!...💜that term Queen.
Team Disrespectful…love my fuzzies 🙌🏽
Proudly disrespectful ❤
A bit of both but I'm leaning more towards the disrespectful side 😂💁🏿♂️
Thank you not yanking the baby hairs 👏🏾👏🏾
I'm team disrespectful 3 years loc'd. I started out neat until I came across your video at 3 months in.
I don't even like the retwist look at all. I keep it covered most of the time.
I have the thick, super course hair.
Disrespectful locs for the win. I love my disrespectful locs let’s me know I’m doing something right. Because my hair is thin but it’s been getting thicker and thicker ever since I’ve started leaving my hair alone.
