I have a philosophical or semantic problem with the separation of body and mind. For the moment let's say i can accept awareness as needing nothing. But in my opinion the mind is an extension or an expression of the body. When the body dies . . . the thoughts it had ( the mind or the ego ) also eventually dissolve. Not so ????
If there is desire, there is an entity. Both desire and the entity appear in Awareness, but Awareness is independent and complete, untouched and free from any wants.
Suffering without resistance equals happiness, but not necessarily a smile. Happiness can be a very confusing word when the separate self tries to know what it is. From the point of view of suffering, happiness may almost feel like an insult. Perhaps the word pain is a less confusing description than happiness. It accommodates what is felt without judging it as good or bad, and leaves room for 'healing'.

This is how religion should’ve been structured from the beginning. Like an explanation of all things that appear real to us, and how it connects to something that is infinite, eternal, “all knowing”, all powerful. I love it. No separate god, but the one inside of us!
When we 'fall' asleep and dream, we 'fall' asleep to our conscious self or forget ourself and 'fall' into identification with the main character of the dream. Then as we wake up from the dream to our conscious self or remember ourself we recognize that we were dreaming. We do the same thing in the waking state. We 'fall' asleep to our eternal that I am, forget ourself, and become identified with some temporal portion of our experience, of what I am as an embodied human being and/or who I am, which changes with time, place and circumstance. When we wake up and remember ourself, our true eternal nature as that I am, we transition from the compulsive reactivity of the caterpillar to the conscious responsivity of the butterfly.

Ego is a "problem," only if it is regarded as a sum total of the Self. The greatest atrocities of human history have been perpetrated in a quest for the immortality of the ego, which is a transient illusion.
When he says: "when 'we' forget..." it must be referring to infinite consciousness forgetting, therefore if forgetting is a problem then the problem is with consciousness, on the other hand, if forgetting is not a problem, then that we forget and think of problems and things we do that are wrong even when just judged by us, we should not try to get rid or solve or trying remember what we forgot, as forgetting is natural and nothing wrong or in need of remembering. this is crucial in order to to cast away Rupert's approach of non duality as contradictory. by the way, all non dual teachings end up with this contradiction. In any case, if one blames the apparent self and not consciousness, still have to deal with the second part of my clarification. my conclusion is that consciousness, although atemporal and at rest, in its activity is lacking the power over the problems that our apparent self meets daily. the proof of this lack is that its activity in duality we have experienced this very lack of not corresponding to what is, surely, the problem should not be found in the apparent self, as it is just a production of awareness in whatever form it takes. Unless you make a distinction between ourselves as awareness and God as the Awareness of God, we will miss the additional life of God, which is the power that we lack, shown in His expression in Jesus, which by the Spirit make us partake of the life that overcame evil in duality including his body in physical resurrection.
We have to understand that suffering is not the result of loosing a job or have a sickness or to loose a loved one. This is pain. Suffering is the result of the identification with the one who lost the job, or the one one who is sick etc. Once we recognize that this one does not exist, then suffering ends, but pain remain. In that way, the body mind complex will be able to cope more efficiently with the pain and even be able to be at peace in the middle of the painful circumstances generated with our present situation.
