China should be forever grateful to the British for transforming what was a sleepy fishing village into the modern marvel that Hong Kong was up until 1997. Hong Kong in its present state just would not exist but for British know how. Instead we have modern China now under the role of Xi treating Britain and the western world with utter contempt. Biting that hand that feeds.
