Hi Torbjörn! Aside from the amazing craftsmanship you perform, it's so nice not to hear unnecessary talk about nothing. Also nice not to hear a lot of annoying music in the background. Clean and cut craftsmanship on top! You have RUclips's most serious channel!
Torbjörn, your work is beautiful no matter how "common" the tool!! I love the atmosphere you create on your channel :) the warmth of the forge to the warmth of your family Christmas traditions! Thank you for sharing your passion with us!
I always look forward to your projects. Might I add, you keep a very pristine work environment ...kudos to you sir. And blessing to you and your family. Thank you for a most satisfying peek into your masterful world. I like the hammer you are using. I watched you make that...please be careful with this disease going around.
Nice the way you forged the opening for the bottle top to sit in, turned out a good looking bottle opener. Quite a simple but practical project, well done. Still enjoying your older videos, Regards from down under.
I watch a lot of blacksmithing videos. When I am watching them I always look for techniques and the "how". For example, when you were using the hardy cut off tool, you struck the center until it was almost through, then you hit just to the outside of the cutting edge to part the steel. Many folks I know keep hitting the cutting edge. Another technique I saw is the flipping of the piece while enlarging the hole, also while holding it at an angle. I believe this is to both allow for uniform thickness and creating a rounded bottle opening area. Fantastic workmanship. Also, its nice to see TA make some small mistakes (chisel lines) in the work. One day I'll be able to have the skillset required that when I have small "oops" marks its not a lack of skill but an artisan's touch!
Good to see you taking a break from the wood shop. Smooth and short work of that fine piece. Too bad you are tooooo far away, our AABA winterfest is in a couple of weeks. Great show of skill from various artist and bladesmiths.
As of right now 5 people don’t know what true art and skill this piece is. There are videos that I will never understand why people dislike, and this entire channels videos are the majority of them.
This video made me a little nostalgic, I used to crank these out in college as gifts for friends hehe. Though I feel like yours definitely turned out more elegant than the ones I made. Great video as always!
A few things about this video... 1) Awesome work, as always! 2) Your tools are looking a tad rusty... Which means you need to get back to work in the shop, providing us loyal fans with more awesome videos! 3) Loving the kitty cat place mats... ;-)
WOW, without even thinking, i would buy any product with TA patch if its available in the market, because you are really making a very high quality products.
Hola!! hace muy poco descubri su canal, debo decirle que no deja de sorprenderme,la manera tan natural , entusiasta y profecional que ejerce en su profesion y arte. Le envia un calido saludo desde Argentina,un colega. felicitaciones!!
Well, you did a great Job again. It Looks really nice. Only one thing I would add: a little hole to fix it to a desk, a key ring, your trousers or something that no drunk guy can (maybe accidentally) steal it :D I like that its a small, simple Project that everyone (at least every blacksmith) can try at home.
I love your vdos. Very demonstrative and self-explaining. Inspiring also, though I don't have half the beautiful gear you've got. I have a question: Why do you wear a breathing mask in such a clean environment?
Thanks. I have a medical issue that could end up serious if I don't take care of my lungs. But in general everyone should avoid breathing any dust really.
Have you ever tried using a brass wire brush while the work is hot as a finish method? I use it when I make steel roses and it adds a subtle bit of color. When it cools you apply a clear coat.
i know your a builder. But really, your an artist too. Your work product is amazing. Wish you had a store i could buy from...... I would rather pay a premium for quality!
You know you didn't get a thumbs up from me until I saw you using it! I love watching blacksmithing videos because I am always saying to myself "now why is he or she doing that?" about 20 times in each video!
I was going to comment on how it should have been beer instead of a cola at the end, but on second thought I think the cola was a smart choice, since like 90% of the comments would have been about the choice of beer if it was a beer ^^ Anyway, really nice job, I think this probably has the highest "want-factor" of all the things you've made so far. Since this is something I would actually use, as oppose to all the tools :P
Old Timers call it a Church Key. “...what made Milwaukee famous has made a fool out of me...” Many ways to make them. I like yours! ¡Tranquilo Compadre!
You don’t know how much I love and appreciate your works and your videos
Thanks!!
Thanks for giving us another excellent video and something to watch that is far superior to the television! Well done sir well done!
Thank you so much!

Ha ha, thank you Mikael!! Much appreciated.
Beautiful work. Efficiently forged, and very symmetrical.
This is the most satisfying channel on RUclips. Well done once again mate!
:) Thank you Karl!
@@torbjornahman , I noticed that you use boiled linseed oil. Is there any difference between using boiled linseed oil or raw linseed oil?
@@stuffbywoody5497 I don't think there is a big difference when you apply it hot.
@@torbjornahman , I didn't think there would be, but thought I'd ask in case there was something I didn't know.
10/10 these videos are insanely relaxing
Thanks!!
G'Day. People don't realise the amount of work that goes into a, seemingly, ordinary piece of equipment. Another great video. Cheers
That.. Is a gorgeous bottle opener.
My wife and I get so much enjoyment watching and learning. Thank you sir...and blessings to u and ur family...love this channel!
I was thinking about what my bottle opener ought to look like, and this is pretty much what I wanted.
Phew! That was a close one! You've redeemed yourself with a beautiful bottle opener! lol
I love the design and shape of this bottle opener. Hope to buy one soon! Wendi
The decorative lines really give this something extra. Beautiful!
I swear the sound of your anvil is a thing of beauty. Like 180kg of pure bliss.
There is something transcending about just listening to an artisan work. Keep up the great work Sir your videos are incredible.
Great, thanks!
As always so simple so elegant and so much work but another piece of art thank you . Happy Trails .

Always learn something watching your videos. Looks very nice
Great! I really appreciate your craftsmanship.
This was January 2018. I say for January 2019 you should forge a corkscrew wine bottle opener!
Good to see you taking a break from the wood shop.

Thanks for your good making video! I'm very impressed your metal work. Thanks!
Loved it man! I enjoy all your videos and learn a lot from you. As an swing dancer, I also love the music at the end ;)
Cheers! Finally something forged that's useful! ;) (who the hell needs a damascus longsword.)
It looks cool I guess, also you can cut stuff with it, it's like why the hell do you need a painting? No hate btw
Very nice, sort of art deco look to it. A modern classic.
Класс!!! Жду с нетерпением Вашу новую работу. Здоровья вам и Вашей семье!

This is great ! You know spring isn't that far away. You'll need a shovel soon. ;)
It doesn't feel like it, but you might be right!
Excellent. Love the whole series. I guess that one will become an heirloom. :-)
A forged bottle opener, now thats what i call build to last :)
Another great video! Thanks for sharing
Great opener! I think I need to do one as well and replace the one from the store :)

Thanks. Just to avoid breathing dust.
@@torbjornahman Thanks. Keep it up.
Cool video and a cool project but wy did you wear always this dustmask.
Thanks. I have a medical issue that could end up serious if I don't take care of my lungs. But in general everyone should avoid breathing any dust really.

I actually haven't done that to anything yet. I must try it some day.
Torbjörn Åhman Brush the work just when the red heat has faded to black. If you do it when the work is too hot the copper will leech out of the brass.

What size metal are you starting with?
Beautiful 🥰, what did the linseed oil to the steel ?
It makes it black and protects it a bit like paint would.

Called a church key because it opened up the "Spirits" and the "Holy Water" for you.
Thanks!! Yes, endless design possibilities...
I don't know if you've gotten a better camera, but man the sound is outstanding.
Thanks. I use an external mic nowadays... was struggling a bit in previous videos, but I think I have worked out something.
She's a Sweet Bottle Opener!
love this small beatiful projects!!!
Oh man. I love your videos! Keep it up
Beautiful! Thank for you the upload
Is it just me or are people named Torbjörn just extra crafty
