This was the first song I heard by him and instantly became a fan. Fast forward a year or so and I'm sitting in the county jail. A buddy of mine from Santa Clara County touches down on my module. We get to talking and he brings up Nipsey Hu$$le(RIP) and asks if I've heard. I told him yeah that I saw it on the news. Then he goes "u know who else got killed?" I'm like "oh no, who?" He says "Jimmy Wopo" and it hit me right smack dab center of my chest. I ask him if he's sure and he says positive. The pain I felt was less from a fan point of view, and more from an older wiser persons point of view (I was in my early 30s then). It sucks when a life is cut short. Especially after u reach an age where u start to get a basic understanding of what life is about. U can't help but mourn for them. Wopo was so young and talented. I wanted so bad to see him make it.
