Golden Bough - Song of the Wandering Aengus

Ähnlich wie Andenmusik (Los Andinos kommen aus Ungarn) ist auch Keltische Musik heute international. Golden Bough wurden nicht in Irland, sondern um 1980 in San Francisco gegründet. Für mich als Freund romantisch-melodiöser Musik gehören Keltische und Irische Musik zu den Lieblings-Stilrichtungen.

I've had the opportunity to see this group live on three occasions. They are wonderful and their music is honest. The three do all vocals and instrumentals. This song is one of my favorites and sadly the CD holding it is no longer available. Oddly all the other songs on the CD are included in others. They should be better known than they are.

There are many versions of this song. This one I think is the best!

This is the first time I heard this cover, it's excellent, seems much under appreciated and better than the 20 or so covers I've heard, even Donovan's. With the exception of Jolie Holland's version, which remains my favourite this is one of the the best and while the words makes the song and these guys are really good.

If you go onto the Golden Bough "channel" the Golden Bough has it their as "Witch of the West-mer-lands". I hope this helps.
