Quick Marvel Legends Vulcan Mod to Increase Shoulder Movement

  • I decided to give the Hasbro Marvel Legends Vulcan shoulder mod that been going around a try. While it doesn't increase movement it also makes the overall feel less solid. There IS a reason that peg is as long as it is...

    Would love to see more quick tip videos like this. The more people know how easy it is to improve some figures, the better. I'm personally still bummed that not that many people know how to give their McFarlane Space Marine Intercessors functional ankle rocking because it means so many people have no choice but to take pics of the figures in stiff poses.

    Robo I did a quick 1 minute 30 second reel on my IG a couple weeks ago on how I actually widened that channel and lengthened it and did not cut the peg. It allows for the same range of movement without some of the wobbly-ness. The channel is just not all the way to the front and back of the figure and the channel itself gets narrow towards the front so not only is there a stopping point but also it squeezes the peg.

    Yeah they've been testing this joint for a while, they started with nightcrawler and wild child, but the joint was so badly designed that it locked their butterflies, I had to slide a knife in there to fix it. They figured it out by the time they used it on old man Hawkeye and kept that long peg design for vulcan

    My biggest reaction is just being happy we can boil and pop the arms and legs on these new bodies. Mattel WWE Elite are like action figure Legos with how easy it is to break them down purely boil n pop. Now if ML could move to a similiar universal standard of joints across all body sizes, we'll be in business.

    I heard about there being a way to increase the range on this body, but I thought it'd be way harder than this and involve cutting some of the rib area or something. I got the recent Black Panther and love the figure and was annoyed that most of the butterfly joint wasn't actually usable, so thank you so much for this! Time to go boil some water :)

    2 weeks have passed, is this figure still solid?

      @@TheFwoosh Yeah, i did it on my black panther. I didnt like that the shoulder i had already cut the peg for was so loose. So i used the rotary tool on the other side and I like it more. I bought another black panther just to do it properly on both butterfly joints. I'll be doing it on the rest of my vulcan bucks at some point

    • @MauroRaptor86
      @MauroRaptor86 Год назад +4

      @@Chev1220 So you removed the arm, moved the shoulder to the side, and then dremeled the channel inside?

    • @artwittoyz6859
      @artwittoyz6859 Год назад +5

      @@MauroRaptor86 yeah pop the arm out then the butterfly is pegged into the torso at the bottom so pop that out to expose the channel in there. The channel in there does not extend to the front of the figure behind the chest and to the back of the figure behind the back. It also gets narrow towards the front and that also squeeze the peg and stops it from traveling. So just use a dremel to lengthen the channel all the way forward and back so it doesn’t stop the pegs range of movement and then widen it slightly so it doesn’t squeeze the peg. Then heat and pop the butterfly back in and then pop the arm back in and you will get full range without any wobbly-ness.

    • @Chev1220
      @Chev1220 Год назад +5

      @@MauroRaptor86 Yeah, its a not as easy as just cutting the peg as you need to keep the butterfly really soft so you can flex it around to reach the channel with your dremel.
