    Keith, you deserve an Oscar for the character you played. I was in Vietnam (65 & 66) (AnKhe with the first Cav). and you reminded me of a guy we called pop he was only 25 years old. We were only 18 to 20years old.

      @Pete Singletons Sorry, I'm not familiar with Robert Mason or Chicken Hawk.

    • @gabrielsaad2785
      @gabrielsaad2785 2 года назад +1

      @Pete Singletons Thank you for the Information about Robert Mason.The war in Vietnam was the most misunderstood and unpopular war in American history. When we returned to Travis Air force base In California, the anti-war protesters were waiting on us outside the base and spit on us and called us baby killers. After that I decided to never talk or read about Vietnam. I worked for thirty five years and no one knew I was in Vietnam until the last few years, when people started to (thank you for your service.)

      Air CAV! Respect!

    • @zacharyjohnson6453
      @zacharyjohnson6453 Год назад

      @@gabrielsaad2785 not everybody who spit at Vet were Hippies,
      a Republican in a suit spat at
      Sgt Ron Kovic at the Nixon Inauguration in 1972 all because he was trying to reveal the truth and the lies they were told by our own government. I respect your service but remember, not every bad thing happened were caused by the Vietnamese but by our own Troops which a big reason why the film Casualties Of War was released so it
      can let people know that Americans committed crimes of rape, murder, and things
      like happened in the
      Mi Lai Massacre.
      So not everything is Red, White, & Blue when it comes
      to War and not everything that Americans did in Vietnam was a good thing.

    Apparently while they were filming the helicoper scenes in platoon, the pilot banked the aircraft too hard causing Charlie Sheen to lose his balance nearly fall to his death, but Keith David grabbed him and pulled him back inside. As a thank you Sheen offered Keith David the role in Men At Work a few years later.

    I didn't understand when King said" here comes super lifer" until years later when I was in the military. 😃

    • @HighSpeedNoDrag
      @HighSpeedNoDrag 2 года назад +2

      Myself as well until I came across the below definition:
      A person who lives or stays for extended periods of time in typical holiday destinations and abuses substances in excess. A Superlifer can be identified by passing the majority of their time in specific areas with what appears to be a "partying routine", by which may seem to be so enjoyable that the lifestyle even provokes jealousy from those who live by a "regular" routine

      Supposedly Charlie Sheen nearly fell to his death out of a helicopter during filming of Platoon. The pilot banked the aircraft too hard, almost dumping sheen out of the helo hundreds of feet in the air. Keith David grabbed him and pulled him back inside the aircraft, saving his life. Charlie Sheen gave Keith David the role in Men at Work as a thank you.
