About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

"Say 3 "Hail Moses" tomorrow, cleans it up for ya." Where do they get this stuff? And why are we still laughing over 50 years later? Because it's still FUNNY! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂 HILARIOUS then and now! 👍
😅😆🤣😂👏👏👏
The translation of that Yiddish is
You should live in a house with a 1000 rooms and have a stomach ache in each one of those rooms.
No thank you. I already have a stomach ache in every one of the rooms in the house I live in now which only has 8 rooms!
I saw this episode around 40 years ago when I was young...And I always wanted to know what he said...Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh thanks, I have wanted to know what that meant for years.

You’re welcome
The dialect is very different from the one I am familiar with. I definitely had to listen to several times to figure out what he said.
And that curse he gave Archie is not one that I ever heard as well.
Nice. I can decode some words. Live= leiben, house=hoysen, thousand=toyas, rooms= ßimmers, boyachavite= stomach ache.
Ha ha! I love this episode, one of my favorites. The line about high tide from Edith and Archie’s reply “yeah! Edith. We sail at midnight” ha ha. Priceless.
The TV Repair Guy "Levy" was Neil J. Schwartz who also Played "Bag" on "Happy Days."👨🔧📺B.W.
I love it. All in the Family was so connected with real life and so real. It's still reflects example of what we deal with today in 2024.
"Orthodox what?" "Jewish." "OH GEEZ!" 😂
"Hey...toinin down business....dats against your religion!" 🤣
Levy looks like a young Jerry Lewis.
But Jerry Lewis wasn't fat when he was young. Actually, he was pretty skinny!
He does!
The actor, Nick Schwartz is a big real estate guy in Las Vegas. He was the instructor for some of my classes.
Neil.
" Yeah, Edith . . . . . . . we sail at midnight ! ! ! ! ! " . 😄😆😂🤣
Archie could be so irritable.
Funniest show ever.
Not even close, even though it's a good show.
Classic episode, ( like many others).
Imagine having Archie on for an interview and not even featuring it
The neighborhood must have all bought Zenith. We went through 3 (two were "warranty" replacements for the first) within months until my parents got the RCA Colortrak cab unit. That thing would have survived a car crusher. 🤣
I was born in 1970. We had the same Zenith for 20 years.
Those were heavy TVs made even heavier encased in a wood frame. We had an RCA where only the PBS station never came in in color.
Zenith was the best!
We had a Zenith television in our living room for over 20 years before it went out. It was a huge and heavy television. Great picture too!
I had an aunt and uncle who would only buy Zenith. Even in the early 1990's when Japanese technology was far superior and Zenith was in financial trouble and was the only U.S. company making TV's, they ran around looking to see if they could find a Zenith.
My parents always had an RCA until Japanese technology became better and then they had a Sharp. I remember my father laughing at my aunt and uncle searching all over for a Zenith because he knew it was no longer a good brand.
Imagine having to get a tv repaired, I can't imagine it. I would just throw it out and buy a new one. I am sure it was on the fritz for a while now.
We repaired T Vs
Didn't throw them awzy.
I wanted to see more of this character Mr. Levy.
Levy looks like a young squiggy from the tv 📺 show Laverne and Shirley jamie 😊
He played Bag during the first season of Happy Days.
@user-hp1ou3nb7 that's pretty dar'n close jamie
If Levy is really an Orthodox Jew, where is his kippah and tzitzis?
You have no idea whether he is wearing tzitzis or not. I won't anwer about the kippa online but I do know a hypothetical answer for why he wouldn't have been wearing one.
I think he is reformed Orthodox.
Many Orthodox don't wear a Kippah at work.
Can anyone translate Yiddish?
Read above
@@helenshack2838Thanks! 😂
According to imdb, he said, _"May you live in a house with a thousand rooms, and get a stomachache in each room..."_
The term "running your .mouth" goes back a lot longer than I would've thought. The term was commonly used in the 1990s, and I had always been under the impression it very recently originated from rap, hip-hop or house music.
😂
It goes back further than the 90s.
@@joyceadair3003 😉 Way back 👍
It goes back to the 1920's!!
Back when they charged a fortune to repair a TV. Thank God for modern flat panels you can repair yourself.
No one can repair flat panels themselves. WTF are you talking about! Modern TV's get replaced with new ones (whether we like it or not). Surface-mount solid state circuit boards prevent user-serviceability at home. The upside to non-repairable modern TV's is they can run for decades without a breakdown vs the old TV's with tubes breaking down twice within a year or so as was the case in the 1990's and earlier.
@@deanbianco4982My last old style TV I had for 20 years with no repairs. Just a basic 20-inch GE. Not sure what you're talking about with tubes breaking down every 2 years... 😂
Mr. Levy couldn't be Orthodox; he isn't wearing a kippah - not even one blended in by color with his hair, like Ben Shapiro. Also, it's funny seeing things like this, clips from Porky's, etc. in which they were portraying Jews as stereotypically olive-skinned with black hair, while there were Jews in the main casts who were indistinguishable from anyone else.
@@backforblood3421 ... Although, Jews have convincingly passed for Italians ... Henry Winkler, Brad Garrett and the gal who played Val on The Nanny.... come to mind. I would assume Norman Lear, as a Jew himself, had some say in matters of casting actors in these very specific roles for maximum authenticity--at least in his mind.
A kippah? Is that anything like yom kippah? 😂🤣
I hope somebody was fired for that blunder
He's probably Reformed.
@@sha11235 He says he's Orthodox in the video.
In 2024 most households would have at least 2 HDTVs so there would be no way of missing the CBS News
