Sharon Stone as a gunslinger: you would think this is a hard “no”. But this is actually a really enjoyable popcorn Saturday afternoon movie 🍿
She did a great job. It's like the only movie I really like her in.

When they made this movie other than Hackman they had no idea how many stars they had in the cast
True...Russell Crowe was virtually unknown at the time and Leonardo Dicaprio was just making a name for himself.
This movie was better then it was given credit for. I wish they had made a sequel with Russell Crow as the town sheriff and a reverend, too. Obviously, with a lot more serious script this time.

@@Pedroism Not just that, he handed her a gun and told her, a little girl who never even held a gun before that day, that if she could shoot the rope and free him he’d let him live. Naturally she takes aim, and winds up shooting her own father in the head. Which is why she wanted revenge.

Is it wrong if I instinctively laugh when Gene Hackman puts a giant hole through Keith David's head in this scene? Because to me, that scene is just plain silly.

Would have been a really good movie but for the poor directing. The script was a little light but with all of these actors, a good director could have tightened things up. The basic ingredients were there. I wonder if the schedule was too short?

This was when writers could actually portray a bad ass woman lead and it was believable, most now a days have one tiny 100 lbs chick throwing around a group of huge men, it's just not realistic, the whole story here is fantastic, the sadness, then anger, and finally the revenge, great Western even after the time of the greatest ones.

This movie was pure trash, but Gene’s acting is the only reason I ever watch it and the only good thing about this movie.
Gene is one of THE greatest actors ever up there with Brando, Heston, Pacino, DeNiro (DeNito is a douche in real life, but credit is due).
