    The best thing about ChatGPT is you can bother it and probe it about the answers as much as you like without thinking twice about being called dumb or having the anxiety of asking something dumb or being seen as annoying.
    Explain X.
    Explain further Y from the explanation of X.
    Explain further Z from the explanation of Y.
    Explain with an analogy.
    Explain in Warzone terms.
    Explain like I have an IQ of a dropped baby.
    ...
    You can continue probing it until everything clicks in your head. It's amazing.
    This is why LLMs like ChatGPT are going to revolutionize education. Students who stay away from asking questions out of fear or anxiety of being called stupid, dumb or annoying, can finally ask those questions and get rid of their doubts and learn better.

      Agreed, I relentlessly asked ChatGPT to reexplain and clarify a Java concept and it did so without complaint. I would have had to “apologize” for taking up too much time in class or on a discussion board. Not with ChatGPT: it’s a 24/7/365 tutor. Hard-working students will really benefit from this.

    ChatGPT when asked to mimic a stack overflow response is probably the biggest mistake I've ever seen it make:
    Sure, I can help you with that. Here's an example of a response you might find on Stack Overflow:
    ---
    Question:
    **How can I sort an array of numbers in JavaScript?**
    I have an array of numbers in JavaScript and I need to sort them in ascending order. What's the best way to achieve this?
    ---
    Response:
    You can use the `Array.prototype.sort()` method to sort an array of numbers in JavaScript. By default, the `sort()` method sorts elements as strings, so you need to provide a compare function to sort the numbers correctly.
    Here's an example of how you can use the `sort()` method with a compare function to sort an array of numbers in ascending order:
    ```javascript
    const numbers = [5, 1, 3, 2, 4];
    numbers.sort((a, b) => a - b);
    console.log(numbers);
    ```
    In this example, the compare function `((a, b) => a - b)` subtracts `b` from `a`. If the result is negative, `a` is sorted before `b`. If the result is positive, `b` is sorted before `a`. If the result is 0, the order of `a` and `b` remains unchanged.
    The above code will output `[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]`, which is the sorted array in ascending order.
    Remember that the `sort()` method sorts the original array in place and returns a reference to the sorted array, so there's no need to assign the result to a new variable unless you want to keep the original array unchanged.
    I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

    At least ChatGPT actually answers the question rather than pointing the user to "use google" or "did you not read our rulebook about dupe posting." The fact that mods in SO could block your question you spent a long time trying to set up in an instant is outrageous. Too much power was given to those douchebags. Just leave the question alone if it's a duplicate because if you close it, it's still visible for people to see. ChatGPT is getting smarter everyday and more people are going to them due to the toxic nature of SO. So "if" the people there are getting mad that chatgpt is getting more traffic than they are is because they pushed away all the people to them they created the issue and not the people asking honest questions.

    Stack overflow is one of the most needlessly garbage sites I've ever interacted with. Every answer is two orders of magnitude too complicated for the level of the question being asked. You go to look up a question and the answer makes you more confused than when you started. People use jargon instead of explaining things in plain English, or close your thread because your question is "too similar" to one already asked, but when you go look at the other question you can't make heads or tails of the answer.
