Battle Hymn does NOT work with slow tempo fife and drum, especially those that use the British "common tempo" which is 75 bpm. However, whenever I've heard it, it gets a good crowd reaction. Ditto with When Johnny Comes Marching Home.
corps choose their own tempo. if you dont like it, then your out of luck
