I sorta wanted to see that monster spit out hollow points and just peel apart everything

Frag will have the issue of max fragment count like our last talk with 10x2400rpm ^^
i would still recomend you try 2400rpm with railgun at low rail draw (if you like small shell try 1HE mod at 500mm it should require half of your current autoloader count and if you don't care abount accuracy you could forget the recoil absorber and have something relatively compac for a 2400rpm 500mm canon) :)

They phased out giant naval cannons a while ago, especially spine mounted monstrosities like this one, air craft carriers are too effective and aircraft are cheaper if something goes wrong.
I know I am a little late, but I think that a railgun will be better suited for this. I was recently making some railguns for my battleship which use 8 meter long shells at 500mm, no casing. I noticed that unless I limit the rpm, then the cannon just spits out all of its ammunition at once since no casing = no cooldown; meaning that the only thing limiting this things output was ammunition count and recharge rate/rail energy storage. So if you want a monstrous 500mm brrt gun you might want to give railguns a try :) No idea if this would be cheaper or if the brrt will be very long but its still worth a try imo.

If you don't limit the firing speed, you will need a lot more rail capacitors and recoil absorbers then you would normally need for the same DPS, because off the high demand peeks, but if you don't overdo it, it can work pretty well. My favourite in that regard is a 500*2000 Rail-Shot-Gun that shoots 64 Bullets per volley. About quadruple the amount of absorbers and such needed, but only amounts to about the same volume as the autoloaders. And because of the absurd penetration Power, it is actually surprisingly effective. Four of these guns can oneshot any vehicle in the campaign if aimed well, as the volley can penetrate about 1000 meters of Metal or about 200 meters of heavy armour. The shell design is: APH, FWH, FWH, HEWH. You should trim the rail draw so the resulting AP equals 48 so that the energy efficiency is optimal for most cases. I like to set these FWH to a healthy 120° because only less then 2% of the shells are likely to explode anywhere near the outside. Not that it matters as 90% of the time most of your shells are flying through the space where the block, that was targeted, once was.
But hey, efficiency is king.
Edit: you can use a Heavy head instead and increase the raildraw accordingly, but beware the increase in volume and the drastic loss of energy efficiency. On the overside though I can guarantee that there won't be anything you can't slice in half with a few of these guns.
Second edit: I swapped two shells in my head there, you can't get the things to 48AP. Anyway, fire them as hard as you are willing to pay for it XD

Give your thoughts on what to aim for when making these hulls.
Like if youre making a thruster craft it might be beneficial to build a hull around an engine rather than just making one from nothing
