When Mama O reached for her son’s back to pat him and make him feel that everything will be okay as they walked backstage made me teary-eyed. Moms are the best!
And he's probably going to suck on her teet when he gets home because without her he's nothing it's pathetic. Man up
Dude I buy Mama O’s kimchi at Whole Foods all the time !!! It’s soooo good. I can’t believe they were on shark tank. Best of luck to them, hope they get all the recognition from this episode.
It is a very solid product. I don't buy it as often as I should as I am very close to 2 family owned Asain markets that make their own Kimchi.
I am so impressed with how articulate Mama O is. As a Korean immigrant myself, I can't imagine how hard it was for her to learn a second language later in life. But man, she spoke more eloquently than her fluent English speaking son! She's truly graceful and I can see why Daymond hesitated his decision as I was also so mesmerized by Mama O!
Asians seem to be really good at picking up English. My wife is Chinese and she picked up English really fast. Asians seem to be faster than Mexicans for whatever reason

Kevin was wrong about this. The biggest appeal about this is that you can make your own kimchi quickly, and I always wanted to. That's how you get people to try, let them make it themselves. Im in Thailand so I cant order but I wish I could.
Kimchee is an acquired taste, and easy to make at home without this product. The sharks are smart.

Mama O's Premium Kimchi netted in a few months more than they did the previous year thanks to Shark Tank airing the episode, and they now deliver to restaurants, bodegas, and other chains.
At 6:50, I have to point this out, It's so cute when Daymond said, "Mama O, that's Unfair" She looked at him and squinted her eyes, and at the same exact time she did that, the music playing ended, and it was just the perfect timing, Almost as if the Shark, Daymond was part of their pitch planed with the music.
Mama is 81 years with more ambition than many young adults.
It's a shame they didn't get a Shark to invest, but for many entrepreneurs like them, sales go up from advertising their company, just pitching their product on the show.

Kimchi is one of the best foods for our gut microbiome. I don't think people know how healthy it is.
It's rich with diverse bacteria and microrganisms that we need to keep our gut healthy.
A couple years ago I had destroyed my microbiome by eating protein liquid meals every day for 3 months.

Shark Tank is still always awesome for featuring all of these family owned smaller businesses when they could easily just post bigger companies and established brand deals. Diversity in products, sharks, entrepreneurs, always welcome.

I think he was hoping.......................but nope! should NOT have opened up about his future fatherhood in a negative way. He IS very lucky and fortunate his mom was able to correct him and positive things for the business....

I could’ve sworn they’d get this deal. I just came from buying the baby bok choy and og kimchis from my supermarket and I love it. Glad to see that they’re scaling up without the deal anyway.

I think Lauri could’ve really helped them. Especially since they’re at 25% profit with little online sales, she could definitely make them much more profitable by giving consumers easier access.

I'm actually disappointed they didn't get the deal, especially when considering the essence of what shark tank is supposed to be and when considering some other products that weren't as good as this. I would expect a shark to swoop in and boost them with an online sales presence. But oh well, I still have a ton of faith in them.
One thing is for sure, the advertisement they got just for being on the shark might help their business even way better than someone giving them money…good luck and son I am sure you will. It’s so great sky is the limit

This taught me something, nowadays in order for a product to sell, it must be all about money. No sorry stories, no hardworking stories. Money, money sells.
Product is too focused on a specific audience, you can’t sell it to everyone.

And I think that's cultural thing, the person wouldn't invest in something that he is not into it or not good enough on product, if that show was in South Korea there would be different talk, and still they might have great offers from investors from out there if they promote the product well enough.
Not sure about that. First time I had kimchi was because of the character Kimchi on Kim's Convenience - I didn't know it was a food, never heard of it before, and loved it. A lot of foods are geared to specific audiences: doesn't mean it doesn't attract a fan base, otherwise sushi would still be on the other side of the Pacific.
Definitely sounds like Mama O's lines were heavily rehearsed, if you listen closely you'll notice it's a bit unnatural. Not saying it's good or bad, just pointing it out.
