Samantha Hatt - Exactly what I was trying to say. That first concealer looked amazing from our usual angle and camera. But once we got close we realized what she was talking about with the creasing and tackiness.

The BEST thing in this video is the phone view so people see what beauty lights do, so they dont feel so bad about their skin. Some spots etc is only natural. We are not robots.

Totally going out to buy this after her review!
Went and bought this after I heard Tati speak so highly about it and sorry it's a no go for me. Drying, cakey, thick, doesn't blend well and when it dries, it dries super dry into lines and creases and wrinkles. Not at all what I had in mind. Awful. Wasted money.

I love this style of video. This kind of review is my favourite you’ve ever done. I find personally, when I watch reviews and all you see is the face with all the pretty light, I immediately want to purchase because it looks so good, and I know the lights make it look better but I don’t realize how much. Then I get home and it looks so different on me, I feel like I’m going something wrong. This was so reassuring and gives me so much more confidence while doing my makeup to see how everything looks so close up(the way I see it on myself) this is why I love you so much, your not afraid to go above and beyond for your audience

When you are talking about a product, can you have the product somewhere in the screen (like the name of it or the actual picture of it). It'll help to differentiate between the products or if you are trying it in a different shade.... The up close video was VERY helpful. Thank you! 🥰

Have you been using the setting powder as well? It is amazing even if you dont want to wear foundation but you want to smooth out the texture of the face it's perfect

@@abbycaca123 I'm not sure about oily skin because I'm on the dryer skin type. But I can tell you it didnt dry out my skin and if I did have dry patches it didnt accentuate them. The only thing you can really do is just give it a try. I've easily seen the product go on sale for 30% off here in Canada so it wouldn't hurt to try.
I love thataylaa videos and how she does “natural light checkins” on her foundation reviews, and she zooms In and shows the real life texture of the makeup!! Beauty lights make a huge difference!
It seems like she's the only one who really knows how to zoom so you can see everything!
exactly. since I turned 26 my under eye skin changed drastically and I thought something was wrong with me because all these 40 year olds in ig and youtube seem to have perfect skin. when youre 18 you can wear whatever brand, even the cheapest concealer will look amazing but now everything collects in my fine lines but apparently thats just normal

I know this is crazy, but just hear me out...... don’t put half the bottle of concealer under one eye! Everything is going to be cakey and heavy and crease when there is 10 pounds of it layered on! I’m not hating but it gets on my nerves when people say things are powdery when they put 9 pounds of powder or that things are heavy when the put on a heavy amount...... there is such thing as USER ERROR

I always wonder why they even bother with foundation when the concealer is covering half of their face. It's ridiculous how much concealer so many use.

I love love *LOVE* the Revlon Candid Concealer so much that I use it as a foundation ☺. Never creases, so bendable, lasts over 8 hours, not drying, looks natural if you apply 1 layer, omg it's such a good concealer!

I love this kind of video because hearing someone like Tati say how great these drugstore products are makes me feel better about buying them, unlike other beauty gurus who are constantly dragging drugstore brands.

I would absolutely love a video just like this with setting powders! So often powders look great far away but up close they can look drying. I love this style of video!

Tati you have to do this waaaaaay more!! Not going to lie it’s so hard to tell the difference between good products and bad products from your normal camera angle because the products always look good from that far away. This time I was actually able to see the difference and now I know what to look for with concealer! So thank you!

This was SO helpful. When I can see the product up close like this it helps me understand what to expect from the product. Whereas when I see the product in a medium frame I really can't grasp how the product is looking bc 1) the camera is too far away and 2) the flood of lights make everything look flawless. Tati!! Can you do a BB/CC/tinted moisturizer video? You totally don't need to go through the trouble of trying on everything at once, but it would just be awesome to get an opinion! I'm not super enthusiastic about foundation, so I'm hoping to find a softer type of cream that works.

1) A video just like this one, but with drugstore primers -I have been limping along with samples of the Tarte Timeless Smoothing primer. I LOVE that stuff, but I can't afford it. Does a drugstore dupe exist?
2. How to keep your glasses from removing your makeup -Maybe I just need to wipe the bridge with an alcohol wipe, but is there more to it? Would a different order/amount/type of product make a difference?

Just a heads up about the CG Undercover Concealer: If you’re considering it, try watching some other reviews. I’m not saying Tati’s wrong, but a lot of RUclipsr’s think it’s pretty good. I have it and I like it.
I love that concealer so much! It has a great coverage and looks so natural on the skin, but I do apply a small amount and when I saw Tati apply half the bottle to her face I thought "oh maybe that's why she doesn't like it that much", not all concealers are meant to be applied the same.

I LOOOOVVVEEE this with the close ups it honestly made SUCH A DIFFERENCE in the ability to see the pros/cons
YESSSSS keep the up close shots, you should do that in EVERY video, it's much more helpful and real! Really puts it in perspective as to how unrealistic the distant camera view truly is, because the makeup looks completely different on your phone view than it does on your camera.....WOW!

And I'm living for it. Beauty lights are lovely... but I need to see that some of these perfect looking people have real flaws like me! Makes me feel so much better about my makeup application and my own flaws. I hope she keeps doing the close ups.
@Rosezliving it's not the spots... but that her skin does have a little bit of texture. It's still beautiful skin, but more realistically beautiful skin. And seeing how makeup looks on it rather than the airbrushed look beauty lights give... I appreciate that!

I love everything about this video format. The fact that you're honest about the products you don't like but then you state products you do like from that brand, I appreciate that. I also really loved the cuts to video footage from your phone in real time. We need a whole series of videos like this with other recently launched drugstore products!
I absolutely love the close up. It's hard to tell with the beauty lights how something lays. It makes it so much easier to tell, as someone who's still learning makeup, what something looks like IRL.

Candid concealer is hydrating, but doesn't crease! It's literally the best. I've always had to pick between concealer that made my undereyes look like the desert or hydrating ones that look nice but crease in my undereye folds after 5 minutes. This one is BOMB. My undereyes are so dry it's ridiculous
your skin looks so different on camera and on your phone, i prefer the phone camera because it looks more realistic, if only the quality was as good as the camera

The close up is perfect. These are the only videos demo's that actually show me what it will look like on my skin. Honestly this was the most helpful makeup review I have ever watched. AND I'VE WATCHED A LOT! Please do this close up with your one product reviews as well!

Tati I love that you've added a phone camera because you can see much better how something looks like. Watching it on my tv I've noticed that on your "normal" camera (for example the 3rd concealer) looks awsome and then on the phone (which was closer to your face) you can see that it is not doing its job so good as I first thought it does so 👍🏼 for that ❤🤗❤🤗

Lauren K even Sephora has PRETTY lights! The one I go to now has a huge window in the front and I will go up there and try to get a natural light look.
i don’t know why but the milani products always break out my face so bad! and i don’t have sensitive skin at all! i could sleep in my makeup and never break out. milani just always breaks me out which is sad because you’re so right! their foundation and concealer are literally beautiful!! wish i could wear it!
really appreciate the different real angles were getting and up close shots.. like nobody in reality looks great close up and knowing tati doesnt either with full makeup makes me feel better about my own skin and makeup ability. ha
That Milani concealer has been my ride or die lately. So good, that I’m like Shape Tape who? Don’t get me wrong I liked Shape Tape but was a little too drying on me. The Milani blends soo effortlessly and is hydrating but not too hydrating that it dews off your face lol. All skin types can wear it. I’m dry skin and I got a couple of my co workers to try it and they love it and they’re on the oily side. I get so many compliments on my makeup saying my face looks flawless...cough cough Milani is where it’s at! ❤️
Xstal87 I’m glad I’m not the only one who says that shape tape is too drying for them. It is for me too! Every time I say that ppl look at me like I’m an idiot! Not everyone is the same! We’re allowed to not like a hyped up product!! Lol milani is my go to, love it!

Thank you for showing your real skin! It’s so hard to tell with your normal film style sometimes and this gave a true impression of product performance.
I appreciate the up close shots because although you mention you have some hyper-pigmentation spots I couldn't see them until you shared the phone shots. I would appreciate you doing a video that specifically focuses on the use of concealer/foundation to cover up hyper-pigmentation without looking cakey. I'm 36 and really struggling with it even though I always wear SPF 50 over my moisturizer and under my primer. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?
