OMNI is a composition by Brian Blade
    arranged by Jim McNeely
    Live-Recording at hr-Sendesaal, Frankfurt, mai 16th 2019
Whether in the bands of Wayne Shorter, Joshua Redman, Chick Corea, Joni Mitchell or Norah Jones: Brian Blade's drumming is always recognizable. Elegant, bouncy, breathing - such adjectives come to mind when Blade colors and shapes music. Unusually for a drummer he prefers the soft, fine tones and thinks in large compositional arcs. This is also evident in the pieces he and his long-time friend Jon Cowherd composed over the years for his “Fellowship Band” since 1997. Lyrical jazz with a long breath and a sense for beautiful melodies.
    deutsch:

Great Saxophone duo by Melvin Butler + Myron Walden, like mother and daughter. So much feeling and appreciation for harmonics on the piano, the major shift at 6:30 I like the most. Together with bass, he's the coolest guy, it must have to be such a nice pleasure to play alongside him. The guitarist has the best job, you can literaly see how much the other band members wanna listen to his magical guitar play at 7:03.
Saxophones are well attuned to each other and have a terrific sound that shake you up. The down-to-earthness of trombones appeal to me and thanks to them I nevermore wanna miss brass sound in a jazz ensemble. Generally trumpets are used to be the leading voice, but these guys even know how to support the whole band sound in the background and they are an example that you can always recognize a good musician on the qualitiy of his piano sound level.
Most tribute to Jim McNeely that he spent so much time on bringing this remarkable ensemble together.
At last Brian Blade. I've never seen a drummer who strokes the drums so soft and clever like him and still binds the whole band. Thank you for this composition.

Hey Joe, this is one of the messages that a musician and a band can only hope for! "You made our day" as we could say. We would be happy to here from you again.

I'm a young jazz drummer and this performance from the orchestra and the fellowship band was just an amazing bond!
The musicians from the orchestra are all amazing, but Martin Scales for me just stand's out, is just absolutely killing it every time!!
    This was genius!
    Continue with this amazing job!
My favorite orchestra right now from far!!!
I am thinking of some minutes that stands out from this amazing composition and this live show, but I can't find because the all music is just unbelievable ❤️👌🏼👌🏼
I am not going to talk about the group that you invited to this concert, because there's no words to describe what they do, they are like aliens playing! absolutely Unbelievable 🤯❤️
    Congratulations ❤️
