Interesting theory about the Guerlainade tweaking. VERY possible. Tonka Imperiale still in my top 5 Guerlains of all time. But this one sounds quite complex. Mind filming a full review once you've spent a couple of weeks with it? Thank you Karine!! 🧡

I think flankers are a juicy bonanza for brands. So what if we create a great quality flanker once or twice per year in the regular collection that will quickly be sold out and we compensate with super high end prices on our private collection 🤔😏
I love all the comparisons. I just received mine, also a blind buy since I missed out on last year's vanilla version. I really like it and am glad that it isn;t too much like Tonka Imperiale as that is another favorite.
Love Tonka impériale too ! Indeed, it doesn't have the same vibe at all. I love the aromatic opening, the tobacco and the pine notes on my skin. On the other side, I feel like this millesime tonka was more powdery with a floral base. I enjoy both and don't feel like they are redundant 😊

I've tried with Shalimar, but from the flankers I've tried, I just can't 🙈 that philtre one made me think of latex and floor cleaner but I think that's just me 🤦♀️ I will try some more and see if I can get the beauty 😂

So funny, I found a sample of Philtre yesterday in my little "samples to organize" mess. So I sprayed it on my wrist and I was like ew what's wrong with that citrus opening 🤣
I also have this harsh cleaning product opening ... After a while it gets better but still, this is what prevented me from getting it I guess 😁
Maybe try Souffle de parfum if it's still available. They also re-released the Initial version, it's now called L'initial. I think you'd prefer this version 😊

I ordered only one fragrance, the white Guerlain box they sent me as a complementary gift contained a Guerlain water bottle. Super fancy glass bottle, not sure I will it with me to work though 😅

Je pensais à toi dernièrement et je me demandais si tu nous ferai ton retour sur ce Shalimar.
Je l’ai testé aujourd’hui, c’est pas trop mon style, je le trouve néanmoins agréable, son évolution ambrée est jolie sur ma peau. Je le trouve un peu « sec » pour moi qui aime la gourmandise. Mais je comprends qu’il plaise 😊
Oui il reste assez floral et poudré, pas sucré ni gourmand. Peut-être que la tonka de Dior (Fève délicieuse) te plairait plus. Celui-ci pour le coup est trop gourmand pour moi.

Lovely review! Thank you! l own Shalimar Philtre and Shalimar Souffle de Parfum. Is this perfume different enough to add it to my collection? Trying to find a good reason to buy it. : ) I also have Guerlain Angelique Noir, but l am not a big "vanilla" lover. Looking forward to your full review of the new Shalimar flanker! 🐈🐈
It depends, I think you really need to enjoy Shalimar flankers dna and almond/tonka to enjoy this one. I didn't see myself as a vanilla lover but I love vanilla in Guerlain fragrances. And I even love Shalimar millésime vanilla planifolia so much that I bought a back up 😆

@@mingailem8519 It has a hint of sweetness behind with the vanilla but it is definitely more powdery than sweet.

I saw on Instagram that it was coming. I kept looking for it to see if it was released and on the first day of Guerlain sales it was on their website 😆 So I even got a 25% discount on it 😁
Wow what a great deal! 25% off and you got it on the first day😍 Here in the US it is super hard to get new release fragrances in general...especially from Guerlain and Jean Paul Gaultier.😔

Hello Chris ! Oh no, that's usually my plan B for international shipping. For the moment, it's only available here on Guerlain website and counters. Last year the vanilla planifolia was widely available at Sephora, Nocibe etc. So maybe more bottles to come 🤞

@@ThePerfumeNest It's definitely a tonka fragrance ^^ But I found it sweeter (without being too sweet) and super powdery with a ton of bitter almond 😉

@@georgetteviens9790 I went and looked at the HBC website, but it wasn't showing up. I wonder if it is just in some store locations only? It was like that for the Arts and Materials collection. It was only available at Holt Renfrew in three store locations and not online. I think that may have recently changed and now Guerlain may ship from their website. It wasn't an option before.
Always best for shipping cost to find fragrances locally. But if you encounter issues with finding Guerlain fragrances (even l'Art et la matière fragrances), there is a counter in Belgium which ships internationally. It's called Place Vendôme in Wevelgem. Lovely people and great customer service 👍
