    Beautiful video. Love seeing Scotland, where my great grandfather was born. Now I know why he was so comfortable living in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Both are lush, green & wet. Hope you get enough followers & sponsors so you can come tour the states. Keep on putting out great videos.

    Theo... why did I cry when you helped free the little lamb? Thank you for sharing that, it was so sweet ;-) We spend our childhood singing songs and hearing bible stories about lost little lambs and we never think that one day, we might actually help that scared little lamb. Thank You Theo.

    Funny, just watched this, we were 3 nights in Islay with van about 3 weeks ago and decided not to pay Jura ferry either and did the Bunnahabhain distillery tour instead, parked where you did. We'll go back to Jura though as want to do all the Paps on a clear day if possible (5 hours away from us luckily). Our first night we ate from the Nippy Chippy van, superb, she's been there 15 years she said, and parked up near the beach at Port Ellen, you'll be back too as you need to see Loch Gruinart as well, loads camera opps.

      +johndgn that's great! Will definitely return as we want to see Jura and the Paps too :)

    Most interesting. Islay and Jura are on my list because I'm descended from people from these islands. A man from Jura and a woman from Islay so I'm told.

      Get her to watch some of our videos I'm sure the fear in her eyes will change to excitement once she sees how great it is to travel in a van! Where will you be going?

    Nicely done with the lamb! But ketchup with your fish'n chips? All in all, it's great to see you doing stuff :-)

    • @theindieprojects
      @theindieprojects  9 лет назад +1

      Ketchup is essential for fish & chips! Or mayonnaise...or curry sauce...or mushy peas...the list goes on!

    You Bought Water ? Why ? I have to be honest, I've been to all the Islands you visited here, on a bike, and compared to this method of travel, it's chalk and cheese.
    The American monument you visited on the Oa, deserved more coverage than the charging points on the ferry, and where's the wildlife ?

    • @theindieprojects
      @theindieprojects  9 лет назад

      +mixn44 we bought water as we needed to drink and couldn't find any taps. The charging points on the ferry are important to us, as you should have gathered from the vlog, because we need to recharge our phones, cameras, and other electronic devices whilst travelling 24/7 in the van. We thought it would be useful to others who are doing the same. The wildlife was there, as I'm sure you remember when you went, but our GoPro doesn't have a zoom lens so it's impossible to really get a decent close-up of the deer, hare, seals, goats, birds etc... milling around. This isn't a promo video for Islay, it's a personal documentation of our travels. As you can appreciate these videos take a huge amount of time and effort to produce.

    • @mixn44
      @mixn44 9 лет назад

      "Effort" ? Last time i was at the Oa,it involved three ferries and 60 miles pedalling,in a day.
      In the west coast you can drink from the rivers, these can double up as your washing/bathing areas, you can get a 5L container from poundland,you could have got a Battery from Hugh Mundel (haulage comp.).near Kenacraig.
      Up here just ask a local for any help you need
      It's called Highland hospitality,every good deed etc.
      BTW,you got unlucky as that was the worst Summer up here I remember. Slainte

    I'm guessing you must have a long wheel base model, longer than 5m? Otherwise £45 for Jura sounds a bit too high.

    • @theindieprojects
      @theindieprojects  9 лет назад

      Yeah our van is a LWB which makes it longer than 5m. A return would have cost £37.80 for the van then return for us as passengers was an extra £6.60. We'll definitely go one day :)

    • @ArminGrewe
      @ArminGrewe 9 лет назад +1

      Yeah, that sounds right. Bit annoying as I believe you're only just over 5m?
      Definitely worth going to Jura for longer than a day or two. Climb the Paps, walk past Barnhill to the Corryvreckan and watch lots of deer, Eagles and more.

    • @theindieprojects
      @theindieprojects  9 лет назад

      Armin Grewe yep just over 5m! It gives us somewhere to visit in the future :) thanks for the info
