Im a white man and I absolutely love this song. It blew me away when I first heard it in Jasons lyric.
EVERY YOUNG BLACK MALE NEEDS TO NOT ONLY HEAR THIS, BUT "LISTEN"!👂🏾💯
Get serious
@@bleedinggreennation8291 "EAGLES STAN"! SERIOUSLY!!🦅😏
BMU killed this song. The words are powerful and the message is loud and clear. This is what the young generation
Black men need to hear.
The impact this had when it hit in 1994 was incredible. This was a phenomenal lineup indeed
Still a POWERFUL message!!
FELLAS YOU ALREADY KNOW!!! WHEN THEY PERFORMED IT LIVE IT BANGED MORE, THE MESSAGE IS STILL RELEVANT TO THIS DAY! MY BROTHERS 👍🏾✊🏾👊🏾💯
D’Angelo wrote and produced this as a teenager😊

They don't do sound like this no more will a time seeing a group of people let alone great singers come together to sing a positive song about life times have changed thank God I heard what I heard and music we need more songs like this today
This song brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it.
It's a bomb
If you loved this, check out the videos for “Freedom” from the Blank Panther (1995) soundtrack that features many of the prominent black female artists during that time. There is a R&B & Rap version of the song.
I second that emotion

We need this back again for brothers to come together as one and give something positive to the community
Written by D'Angelo before Brown Sugar. Classic tune.
Lenny Kravitz on the guitar

This song brings back powerful memories!!
A few suggestions for songs you could react to at some point:
Island Inspirational All Stars singing "Don't Give Up" (this song sounds similar to the one you've reacted to), "Georgy Porgy" sang by Eric Benet And Faith Evans, Banderas with "This Is Your Life", The Brand New Heavies with "Sometimes" and "Dream On Dreamer", Lillo Thomas with "You're A Good Girl" and "Downtown", Martika with "More Than You Know" and "If You're Tarzan, I'm Jane" and Baltimora with "Tarzan Boy".
Have you reacted to Freedom from the Panther soundtrack yet? It's along the lines of this song, but with all female R&B artists. Although there is a rap version, the one with Aaliyah sounds best
Check out the live version too. They could really sing...no autotune.

Don't forget kevon Edmonds from After 7. He has a small part in this song also
@Sidmaster22t I looked up and researched the whole group and Kevon was not a part of this project.
@@reshaud81 watch the live video. You'll see him singing the "stick by your plans" part. You'll see him and hear his distinct voice.
@Sidmaster22t you're right. I forgot about the live version at the AMAs!
@@reshaud81 he's at the 3:34 mark on this video. Like I said, he has such a small part though 😊
Freedom by Various artists. Like a black female artists who made a song about the black Panthers
