Hey man, I'm coming here from Coffee's video just to offer more encouragement. I say I'm someone that won't ever break their moral principles but these principles have never really been challenged, especially not to the extent that you have been. So I'm just saying, you're a good dude, keep grinding, perseverance. And it'll all be worth it.
Thanks for the self awareness. Everyone is so quick to say “I’d never take the sponsorship if I were them. I’d already be making enough money as is.” Well, that’s really easy to say, and even believe, when that will never end up being a choice you ever have to make. I’d like to believe I wouldn’t take it, but knowing how short the careers of creators are, and wanting to maximize the time I’d be famous enough to make enough money for the rest of my life, maybe I would take it. I don’t inherently think someone is bad for having taken the sponsor. It’s not black and white.
Came here from the Coffeezilla vid, just wanted to say I have no idea who you are, your past, but the fact that you turned down sponsors from gambling sites gives me a pretty good idea of what kind of morals and values you hold. You are an anomaly and you deserve major props dude, you keep doing you
Total BS. They knew what they were doing and NOW they claim morality. Pathetic. Everyone involved knew, turned down sponsors or not. Promoting gambling in any way is influencing kids and that counts in regular opening videos. 0 pity for anyone involved. What a load of total crap these comments are. All bought or what?
I don’t watch your type of content, but just came here from Coffee’s video. I will watch an occasional video and subscribe simply because you deserve it. I am so impressed by your character. Well done. I pray my children can grow up with such a moral code. Please do an interview with your mom to give us mothers tips!
Damn. When you said you were offered money that could retire your mother that really hit. Kinda puts it into perspective. I dont know how I would ever turn that down ...Your morals are great and I think you and your mom should be proud of you. Happy to still have guys like you in this community !:) Greetings from germany.
I'm going to be honest. I don't care about Cs Go at all, never played it and i don't really care about your content, but i watched the interview between you and Coffezilla. Your response moved me, you are a good human beign and even if it's a small thing i will subscribe to you channel just for that reason. I hope you will stay strong to your ideals, because that's what is lacking todays societies: to few people with ideals.
Liking and commenting is more valuable than subbing if you don’t plan on watching another video. Amount of views a video gets compared to the number of subscribers someone has can be used against the creator when it comes to how much money they end up making.
No, do you know what "MTGox" stood for? Magic The Gathering Online Exchange. MTG Online was doing this since like 1999. Before that, you had Pokemon and Magic cards (physical cards), and before that, you had Baseball cards. It's basically sports.
I think that even if Valve somehow were smart enough to implement an economy without gambling, gambling sites would appear anyways and it'd all be the same, just without Valve being the originator. But this isn't that timeline, so yeah, you're right. They innovated a bit too well, allowing an industry like this to not only prosper, but grow like wildfire.
Valve the originators of lootboxes? That's not true, Maple Story was the first to implement the lootbox system way back in 2006 with gashapon style. Valves cases are bad 100%, but they are not the ones who actually started it all.
Coming from playing more tf2 than cs, I thought gambling was incredibly cringe but part of that probably came from STAR_'s old videos about how stupid the whole thing is. Maybe opened one or two cases to open my account to trades and never touched it again. By the time I played csgo, I just used marketplace to buy a couple $1 skins I wanted. Problem solved for me at least.
I've never watched CS, but I'm watching this coming from Coffeezilla to show you love. You're a good dude, Arrow, I hope you go far in life and are able to retire your parents someday. I'll certainly be supporting.
I see some people in the stream chat saying that coffee's video didnt provide any new information, which might be true, but what it does do is bring all of the information to light to people who aren't in the community, i had no idea any of this stuff was happening and maybe with the increased awareness something may happen? I dont know just some food for thought
When I was 14 I was hooked on these sites. Luckily I managed to escape the claws. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy opening a handful of cases here and there within the game, but nothing near what I was doing years ago. Sometimes I feel like CS skins are goofy, being this into a video game is a waste of time and energy, and childish. But seeing that arrow turned down an offer like that out of the goodness of his heart has made me realize that this stuff is very real. Arrow, you are such a stand up dude. You are an exceptional person and I know life will have its way of repaying the good you’ve done.
55:10 , epic games really shot themselves in the foot. I really want to see their financial statements for rocket league and see how much money they lost by removing the trading feature. It seems people are less interested in the cosmetics and items and don't want to buy anything new from their store
It's very unlikely that epic games cares about rocket league's revenue at this point, they've embedded rocket league's cosmetics into Fortnite, and as we all know fortnite's cosmetics js cannot die coz of how diverse they're, so it's highly unlikely they'll lose any bucks from removing trading from RL
@yashgupta1724 i think they do care, from my pov they acquired rocketleague at a pretty expensive cost and the playerbase numbers are dwindling down. It's not a good indicator and it for sure hurt their bottom line. Suppose what you say is true, the fact they they have no alternative revenue stream apart from fortnite should worry them a lot, (yes I know they own the epic games store)
You have been hanging in there, denying dirty money that could change your family’s lives. But in the end, it will pay off. People who didn’t watch you before, like me, will now. You respect your audience and we respect that.
The only time I open cases is 1. When I want to get a very expensive item I can’t afford to buy out right. 2. When I am fully willing to and ok with losing all of the money I put towards the cases. I never go on gambling websites and always try to steer my friends away from them. Almost all of my skins in my inventory are skins I’ve bought from a non gambling website. The only skins I’ll have that come from cases will be the ones I can’t afford to buy and I don’t get them from non stop opening cases. I get them eventually from the very moderated amount of cases I open when I have money I’m completely willing to lose. And let’s say I want a knife, maybe I open a gold and get a knife that I don’t want I’ll just use that on those non gambling websites to trade up to the knife I want so that I can now afford to buy it.
I'm not even a gamer but so much immense respect for you. When you said the money could retire your Mom I felt that deep down, but knowing where that money comes from and how strong your morals are, I am so moved. Keep being you - we are so proud of you.
