The record company made a mistake by releasing letting the cable sleep. That single killed all momentum that this album had. Had they released Warm Machine first, this album would have been triple platinum before the end of 99
@@CrewsOfficial chemicals was not a good choice for the lead single. The 2 singles that I remember hearing on the radio were cables and chemicals. I'm going on memory, I'm not going to Google something every time I make a comment. If machine was released as a single, it wasn't played in my region.
@@jasonmorgan5058 Chemicals did well on the charts but Warm Machine stalled big time in the US. Not sure I have ever heard it played on the radio. Chemicals is still in rotation and even on XM.
I cant believe how much an amazing lead guitarist nigel is. He created that angry yet spacey atmosphere that always gets me feeling angry yet with joy.
The studio footage in this video was done in London...but the outdoor concert footage was taken at Bayfront Park in Miami 1999..I was there for the show...they announced they would be shooting the video for Warm Machine and actually played the song twice for footage purposes.
I was there!! I'm the girl at 2:49, on someone's shoulders getting my tits feeled up by an asshole!! Lol my one use camera was destroyed by all the action!! Lol best concert ever!!
The most underrated album of the late '90s. I like this better than Razorblade Suitcase, also underrated, but this album is solid front to back. Wish they played more songs off of it live. Ive been listening to it non-stop for the last couple of weeks.
I want to return to 1999 so bad! I was only 20, I had a full head of hair, smooth skin, music was still good, Playstation and Nintendo 64 were awesome, car companies weren't churning out cookie cutter boring crap, TV sitcoms were actually funny, etc...
This entire album is great. Their first 2 are my fav and are just phenomenal. But honestly, Science of Things and Golden State are great as well. Always loved their sound, electric buzzing, screaming guitars.
This song reminds me of cold rainy or snowy winter days, being in a subdued mood, smoking a J' with my friends. It also reminds me of the period of time after I graduated high school in 2000, and the whole year before 9/11 happened. It's like whatever innocence was leftover for kids my age then was shattered after that day. I imagine the JFK assassination had a similar effect on mid-late teenagers in 63'. With the internet starting to mature in the early 2000's, everything became so politically charged after 9/11. I appreciate all the stupid stuff I got to do with my friends from 99'-mid 2001. We wanted to do dumb shit. We wanted to get in a little bit of trouble, raise a bit of hell, make some memories and have those stories to tell when we were older. We got to be stupid jack asses.
"Warm Machine is a savior. Sometimes you want a chariot, a way out. 'I memorize the basics' is the opening line and that's just an attempt to operate in the standard ways so you don't step out of line b/c you fear how you are. But sometimes it's difficult to fit in, and you want to escape from a certain situation you've gotten yourself in. You just wish something could come and lift you away and make you free." - as quoted by Gavin Rossdale

This song is stupidly underrated. One of their top 10 songs.
Agreed

@@jasonmorgan5058 Warm Machine was released as the second single from TSOT. Chemical was the best choice as the lead single for the album.

I wish I was trapped in the 1990's and 2000's in a loop. I'll be forever grateful.
It's like you read my mind!
Same!!
Damn i feel the same
wish I was too...would sell my soul to be back there

They played it twice for footage purposes, then they filmed 10 years later in a London studio... Any idea around when is the London video from? Cheers

Just an awesome song! ... Love Bush, Science of Things was very underrated

+RunningFromSatan Great album ... Prizefighter, Disease of the Dancing Cats, Jesus Online, Dead Meat, etc...tons of great music by Bush on that album.
Song still gives me chills.
This is the signature Bush track, captures the feel of the late 90s,. Music industry died after 03.

Underrated song by Gavin.

My warm 90s my cold 90s it was everything. Not just this song.. 90s was fucking awesome
2024, I use to have Bush records... on cassette 📼
This song makes me cry. Reminds me of the years I spent in prison and all of the years I smoked meth.
Me too buddy, with the meth that is I wouldn't take it back though it opened my eyes that for sure..
And I cry knowing that I can't return to 1999!

what a rif! great to hear this back!
Bons tempo música de verdade

Machinehead Part 2 lol
This song has been around in special moments in my life for the last 3 months. Kinda strange and powerful.
Love Bush forever.
True ❤
Wow just remembered this awesome tune. Long lost the cd, but so need this album :)
I'm glad I have this album
Staggeringly few comments/views for such an explosive banger of a tune!!

This comment is underrated 💯🫡
Brilliant and underrated.
The best album this team. Indisputably. This song & 40 miles... & The Chemical...👍
The Last post grunge sound.
well since they started in 1992, they really aren't post grunge, but just plain old grunge.
Post?
I love this song, and I know exactly what its about.
I have a hunch what it’s about, but I have no corroborating evidence. DM me?

This is a band that never could end.
This song makes you feel like you are on a mission.
I bought this album when it came out.

LYRICS
I memorize the basics
Making strange faces
Traded slowly for I know
There's a thousand miles to go
Without blinking
I gravitate spacewards
Find a home for the head
From my basement
No darkness ever left
This is the night
This is the sound
Here comes the warm machine
Such a warm machine
Pretty warm
Some days are playful
Making play faces
But we will not let it through
The darkness and the sense
Of being born to lose
This is the life
This is the sound
Here comes the warm machine
Such a warm machine
If we never know we can only
Feel
I'll take the help
I'll take a slice
Warm alright, now
Cause I feel alright
This is the night
This is the sound
Here comes the warm machine
Such a warm machine
Such a warm machine
Such a warm machine
Machine, machine, machine
It's "I feel warm"
Not "pretty warm"
It's "tread slowly"
Not "traded"
Science of things should be soundtrack for Altered Carbon
Nostalgia demais
Adore it! Nirvana #2

Gavin son Kingston looks just like his father.
Damn KROQ and the rest of the gatekeepers for not making this a single.
Way better than chemicals between us, though that song is no slouch either.
All those people in the crowd.. why does it feel like i was one of them?
Last time they were truly good :: but the new album kingdom is close
❤❤😂😂
I always thought of bush as a nirvana descendant, still good band
