    I'm in the process of refining the Raindrop prelude, and this tutorial has proven to be of immense value in helping me bring out the voices in measures 28-75, it was such a gift to see this video after your original Raindrop RUclips video posted 9 years ago that inspired me to learn the piece. Thank you for making your talent so accessible!

    One can see that this piece holds a special place in Marjan Kiepura´s artistry. His humble approach to the “Raindrop” is with great empathy and “Feingefühl”, which makes his interpretation so overwhelming and authentic: rather taking the audience back to Mallorca and recapture the atmosphere that Chopin experienced when he wrote this piece than trying to project his own emotional feelings. Dziękuję Ci bardzo, Marjan!

    I am so happy to see and hear you play and speak about Chopin Mr. Kiepura! It is difficult to speak of favorite pieces in regards to Chopin's music, but if I had to choose it would be the Raindrop Prelude. I can feel the rain listening to your playing. I pray you and your family are well and healthy! Merry Christmas to you and a Blessed New Year!

    very thankful for your explanations. I just struggle with the speed and I wish the piece was more relaxed and not so much in a rush

    • @PatriaProductions
      @PatriaProductions  Год назад +1

      Thanks and happy my explanations were useful. I did cover tempo possibilities in my narrative from 8:00 minutes to 10:00. I took the pace that is right for me. But I also offered suggestions on different tempi which are fully acceptable when performing this piece. I even encouraged playing it slower and gave examples. I would recommend recording yourself on an iPhone or other device to see where you want to be in your own performances. And happy to answer any other questions you may have.

    Beautiful, and an excellent interpretation. Unfortunately just does not hit the spot for me. I found the speed and consistency lost my emotional attention. Everyone has there own task.

    • @PatriaProductions
      @PatriaProductions  2 года назад +2

      You are correct, everyone has there own task. I did address the speed, as in my tempo versus other possibilities. So there are valid interpretive options available. It must feel right for you. Thanks for tuning in! Best wishes, Marjan Kiepura

    Hi there im sorry to say but did you needed to catch a bus r train? Its so fast? And again sorry, but the romantic story behind this Prelude is ( sadly) false. This Prelude is not even witten in Mallorca

    • @PatriaProductions
      @PatriaProductions  Год назад +3

      Thank you for reaching out. I did not say Chopin “composed” the Raindrop prelude in Mallorca. I said Chopin traveled to Mallorca and was “working” on this prelude. The story of Chopin imagining hearing the monks chanting, was right out of George Sand’s personal diary.
      The question of tempo is extensively covered in my narrative from 8:00 minutes to 10:00. I stressed that I was offering merely “suggestions” as to different tempi which are fully possible when performing this piece. I even encouraged playing it slower for those who wish to do so, and gave examples. And, that “Sostenuto” is an indication of slower but not necessarily “slow”. The pace I took was right for me. For others it might be different - and that is totally fine. Thanks for tuning in and happy to answer any other questions you may have.
