Hi joji. Ive finally finished binge watching yr journals... AWESOME.. i knitted all the way through. Beanies socks and currently half way through yr gorgeous suburban wrap. Thank you so much because i never wd have done so much without you.. Cheers Cathy...New Zealand
I'm also going on the Iceland cruise and I'm beyond excited. I can't wait to take your class and meet all the other wonderful knitters! Not to mention get out of the blistering heat of August in Texas!
It was really fascinating to listen to you talking about yarn weight, alchemy etc. . I have quite a bit of fingering weight yarn in my stash and I know how different they can be, thinner or plumper even if the composition is very similar if not identical! I had to have a little laugh when you talked about your Tromsø hat and the yarn you had picked: gorgeous by the look of it and its name Dubonnet which is an alcohol but also means “of the hat” (French), how funny! Have a wondrous time on all your trips and we’ll be here to hear your stories when you get back!
Lovely journal ! I will be very interested on the video about your knitting cruise, I could never go on such a trip because I get so very sea sick, but it would be a joy to live a part of it vicariously. Thanks ! Have a good trip !
A very lovely journal. I love to hear about others(knitters, crocheters etc) experiencing Alaska. I have the pleasure of living here in Anchorage. Recently the port in Anchorage has opened up to cruises ships since the pandemic shutdown. It would be so lovely to meet with you and Charley and Jodi and Tracy at your ship if happens to stop here unplanned. I’m sure you will love the sights of the mountains and whale watching. Please bring plenty of money for yarn of the MuskOx(qiviut). Oh Joji the life of a knitwear designer traveling the world. Enjoy it
Thank you Joji. I hope you have the most amazing time away. I appreciate your insights into Yarn substitution etc as I can very rarely get the exact yarn called for and it helps me to be able to think about using my stash. I am currently working on my Milton Cardi. Thank you for such a wonderful pattern. 🧡 Christine, Australia.
Thank you for taking the time to share your insights comparing yarns, it makes so much sense but I had never thought about it like that. Enjoy your cruise, it’s sounds like so much fun.
I’m so glad you’re planning to document the cruise! I’d definitely watch as I missed out on going. I was thinking about singing up and then a second later, it was sold out! Have a great time!
Loved the podcast as usual Joji. We did the same cruise to Alaska 7 years ago. It was amazing and knitting would have been special. Enjoy and travel safely xx
Thank you for sharing how you design from your stash. Enjoy your first cruise + Alaska. May the Aurora Borealis stay vibrant til you arrive. Been on a small cruise around the Greek Isles but would love to see the cruise to Alaska. I'm sure Peri will miss you!
I’m working on a second Virginia vest (love this top!) and not two minutes in to your podcast, I made a mistake on a lace section! I need to pay more attention! Love your patterns and listening to you explain your process for designing. Thank you for both!❤
Thank you for another lovely knitting journal. I was disappointed that the Alaska cruise literally sold out in minutes and could not get in. But I am going on the grocery girls cruise in September, which starts in Quebec city, goes through Canadian cities, then back to Maine and Boston. it will be a celebration for me as I will be turning 65 that week and can’t wait to have lots of fun with Jodi and Tracie.
Looking forward to a journal with your mother! Have a nice trip! and don't worry, cruises are fabulous, so much knitting time watching the sea - which is very sooting.
Cool about documenting cruise. If you have time to take a ferry to Bainbridge- there is a lovely yarn shop in the old Churchmouse space- Shop la Mercerie - lots of European affordable yarns as well as the hand dyed and other more higher end yarn. Jess the owner also puts on Flock Fiber Festival in August

Love the idea of you documenting your teaching travels. I did an Alaska cruise with my mom and grandmother many years ago and it was beautiful.

I love walking and knitting. Have you knit a Musselburgh yet? It’s perfect for walking and knitting.
The gauge is a bit tiny for my taste
