- A crowd gathered outside the Wall of Fame in Dublin to pay their respects to the "beautiful soul" of Sinead O’Connor.
Those gathered in Temple Bar spoke about the influence her music had on their lives and called for her death to "light an absolute fire under all of us" to tackle how mental health and children are treated in Ireland.
O’Connor died on Thursday aged 56.
The Grammy-winning singer, originally from Dublin, was found unresponsive at a home in south London on Wednesday.

I’m so sad about Sinead O’Connor. She was truly special and as a Gen Xer I grew up on her music. Sinead was woke before woke was a thing, but most importantly she cared so deeply about doing the right thing and staying true to her own beliefs. She was hands down one of the bravest singers in the industry and she was unafraid to speak up. She’ll be forever admired and remembered for the person she was, as well as, her massive talent. ❤🕊️🙏🏾

Such a powerful “wake up people let’s be done with child abuse coverups “ we need such bravery and she epitomised stalwart courage for upliftment of humanity . My intro to her FEARLESS life came when she tore up that pic of pope saying ,"FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY!" My sentiments exactly. And she knew whereof she spoke & had that VOICE ,i can STILL hear in my head.
