    THIS VEHICLE REQUIRES PROGRAMMING AT THE DEALER AFTER INSTALLATION.
    This video will show you how to remove and install the stereo head unit in a Mazda CX-9. The 6 CD changer jammed and would not load, unload or play CD's.

    Thank you, thank you,thank you! Loved the way you explained everything. Saying that it's going to sound bad when your pulling stuff the stuff off helped a lot, didn't worry so much about thinking it's breaking. Anyway thanks Robert for taking the time to make this video. You saved me hundreds of dollars and it's working fine!

    Excellent tutorial on how to do this. Your instructions are thorough, and easy to follow. I may end up doing this, because I found out tonight the cd player will not load a CD on my 2012 CX9 (same model of CD player as yours).

      This may explain why my aux input just stopped working one day. It may have gotten unplugged from the back of the stereo! I know it is not the jack in the console as I replaced that and still doesn't work. I will have to check the back of the stereo.

    I don't at the time. I'll look into it. I know that the shifter area plate pulls up from the cup holder edge but not sure about the actual knob. If I figure it out I'll post back.

    Hi R Spi007, I know this has nothing to do with the radio but I hope you can help me out, the leather on my CX-9 shift knob is pretty worn out, do you have any idea how to replace it ? I tried turning it counterclockwise but it just keeps spinning, is there some special trick to get it off ? thanks in advance

    Hi Robert, thats my brothers name as well.
    My question is if you client here in this video wanted to install a navigation radio would it have been as easy as putting in the same one? I have the same CX9 as well as the exact radio as your client in this video. However my radio crapped out never took more than 1 CD.
    However, I want to upgrade to one with navigation screen and it also comes with back up camera.
    P.S.
    great informative video.

    Hello Robert, Great Vid. I'm thinking of upgrading my current CX9's stereo to the Navigation system. Do I still need to take it to the dealer for reprogramming? Would you happen to know the cost by the dealer to reprogram if necessary?

    Very in depth video and I know that is not easy. I have been wondering about updating my Mazda CX9 With NAV stereo system. I like the feature of having a Navigation, but the system that my NAV uses for me is not good enough and I am looking to see if there is a update and how to do it. Any recommendations?

    • @RobertDIY
      @RobertDIY  11 лет назад

      I have gone to using my phone as a GPS. The down side is, if you are in an area with no G3 or G4 you can loose your directions.
      If you go with a built in system or portable unit, do update the maps at least every 12 months.

    • @GogoFly68
      @GogoFly68 11 лет назад

      Don't get me wrong, my Navigation works in my car, its just I think some of the features are not set properly. With that I was thinking about what or if their was a way to update my current DENSO radio/NAV system in my Mazda CX9 2010 to improve the features and quality of the NAV.

    thanks for posting the video, very helpful. I have a CX-9 with the back-up camera. The radio and Bluetooth do work. The problem is that I cannot turn off the radio, change the station or lower the volume. The LCD display is always on and showing color bars, cant turn that off either. I have to unplug the fuse to shut the radio and display off and when I put the fuse back in, the same issue. Any suggestions?

    • @RobertDIY
      @RobertDIY  10 лет назад

      Steven Klauz No, something is stuck in there, I'd get a replacement. Sad to say I think the replacement will have to be programmed at the dealer.

      Steven, I have the exact problem going on with my 2010 CX-9. I found a replacment radio on Ebay that is supposed to work. But I am concerned about the reprogramming issue. What did you end up doing to get your radio fixed? Thanks, Dan

    Hello Robert I have Mazda C-X 9 and the complete Bose Audio Radio CD went dead as well as the Information Display panel above the stereo. Can you kindly advise if that happens when the Radio/CD goes dead. Please help me figure if this just the Radio/CD dead or if its an electrical problem

    • @RobertDIY
      @RobertDIY  10 лет назад

      If the radio and the display above it went dead, you likely have a bad fuse, have you checked your fuses?
