This was the first video I watched in my search to replace a back glass. Explained very well, the details in how you show everything are perfect! Great job ersbit. You made it very easy for people to replace theirs!
Great video! Can you please make one changing the bottom speaker? Mine has been muffled/ broken for some time now. Sent it to a shop to fix it, but they done a bad job and it broke again. Looking to do a full replacement myself and would love your help, as I learned a lot from this and your other S20 Ultra video. Thanks
Hey, I think you can get the answer of your question from my S20 ultra teardown video. Check that first if it does not help leave a comment I will see how to direct you.
Technically it will stay water resistant but decreased compared to the original water resistance rating. I recommend avoiding water, if you want to Submerge maybe no longer than 5 minutes (depending on parts quality type of double sided tape etc....) using glue alone (simply avoid water) glue will not be evenly distributed around the device so il might be sticking but not necessarily everywhere.
I still want it to be water water resistant. What will i do? Go to service center of samsung?. I bought this phone considering its water resistant. Thats why i chose it.
Hello. My Samsung Galaxy S20 front screen just got chipped. If I take it to have it replaced, is it possible that a complete reset of the phone may be necessary, resulting in the loss of photos, videos, applications, etc ...?
@@ersbit If they reset my phone, is it enough to make a complete backup (photos, videos, applications, etc.) with Samsung Cloud and then, after they reset, click on "Restore data" to get back everything I have now in the phone? Or I have to also other things?
@@flavietto9973 please let me know what kind of repair they will be coming performing? Yes. If you have enough space in the cloud you can back up the device contents. And to be safe you can do a second back up inside your computer memory
@@ersbit I don't know, I have a chipped phone screen, but it's not a big damage, so I guess it won't be a particularly difficult task. To be safe, I downloaded all the photos and videos to my computer, but I installed some apps that can only be installed on the phone. By backing up the phone and then restoring to the same phone, will they stay installed with the same progress or will I have to reinstall them?
So yes, if it's just screen replacement or front glass replacement you shouldn't lose anything. I think there are application that can do the whole backup with apps reinstalled when you Restore. Check the requirements for the back-up etc...
Hey, yes it was good quality at least same as oem. I got it from eBay. I purposely bought the one with median price. I found cheaper back glass but those where not original
It depends on the quality of the back tape. If it's grayish like the original and was stored properly without any part exposed to air (plastic firm properly covering the tape) you do not need any liquid glue. Please check my S10 back glass replacement video you will understand better what I call bad back cover tape (lower quality vs oem or manufacturer similar quality)
@@ersbit i have replaced my back glass once before but they apply too much glue and it is not fitting properly when i ask them thek say it will not stick without glue
You can add liquid glue, but you'd have to be carefull not to ever do it. Samsung sends these devices without liquid glue I believe we can repair them without liquid glue, but if you think your back glass tape is kinda not so fresh you can have a thin line of glue on top of the tape. Depending the on your experience you might have to clean up the excess glue or if done to perfection you won't even feel or have any clue that liquid glue was applied ✅
Technically it depends on the type of cracks. If a hair line or even a real crack it will stay water resistant because below the glass you have a plastic film that will stop water if the glass is broken. This is only if the crack is at the center and does not go to the edge or side. If cracked and tape is visible or tape not sticking properly you need to repair it. Also, If it's cracked to the edges I recommend you the change it. You should replace it and not try anything in water or near water to avoid further damage.
"Heat-gun" or simply use a Hairdryer it's less powerful, take a little bit longer but does work. I got mine more than 7 years ago and it still works (heatgun was $15) nothing fancy needed.
lol I recommend to use low setting on heatgun and swing for 60s do not stay on an area for more than a second. Then try to insert a tool but if it's still very difficult heat again for another 60 second. If you use high setting you need to do this for 20 to 30 seconds. Using a Hairdryer you might swing around 1 minute first and try to remove if it's still hard heat again for 2 minutes with constant movement then retry. The lower the power or heat the longer it will take you. 👍🏽
anyone? what's the sticker on the top left corner of the inside, of the back glass. ? my replacement screen did not come with it. the sticker (to my guess) looks like a signal booster. it does not connect to any power supply. it looks light grey in color. anyone know about this???? thank you!.
I would say yes. It depends mainly on the part and tape they had. If it's the grayish tape that looks like Samsung oem you can be very close to manufacturer water resistance. If it is the black thin tape I showed in my S10 plus back glass replacement video that one will surely let water inside lol
That should not be too hard, just get yourself a b7000 or other electrical glue to fix it. Carefull these glue create a mess if not handled right/properly

Is back glue is strong enough or we need some more liquid glue

That's great, frankly If it's same as oem you don't have to apply any glue unless the tape is kinda wierd
If i drop the phone, and the rear glass is broken, is it still waterproof, or i need to replace it?
Technically it depends on the type of cracks. If a hair line or even a real crack it will stay water resistant because below the glass you have a plastic film that will stop water if the glass is broken. @@ersbit okay thank you so much! Good video, keep it up!
Thank you Glad it was helpful to you 👍🏽
If you let it fall, the frame could be slightly bent so it will not fit perfectly. Thus it is not water resisting anymore

"Heat-gun" or simply use a Hairdryer it's less powerful, take a little bit longer but does work. I got mine more than 7 years ago and it still works (heatgun was $15) nothing fancy needed.
