Wow, this is a PERFECT example of why you should NEVER judge a book by the cover! Here is this guy standing in a half finished cabin with exposed insulation, in overalls, just delivering an EXCELLENT review! Reminds me of the stories of Sam Walton, who was for a period of time the richest man in America, yet purportedly went around in an old pick up truck. Love it! Thank you for the great review. :)

Have had my Alexapure for a couple + years. Love it. No problem ever with the plastic spigot (lucky me). I go out of town once a year and I empty the stainless water containers, remove the filters and place them in plastic ziplock bags filled with water. I store them in the fridge until I return. Then set up the system again, and walla, works instantly. I've never had a problem. Great, great product.

From Lil Giant Thank you very much for the tip on the refrigerated filters.
FYI It is spelled voila. (Has an accent on the a but do not know how to do on this keyboard.) French for “There it is,” or “Presto” type situation. Pronounced similarly as your spelling walla, but with a v in front. Vwalla!
The other word is voici, (vwa see) French for “Here it is.” 👍😉 Sorry if I am being too nerdy.

We love the Alexapure water system! Used it for 5 years at our old farm - had no issues with the very first spigot they sent. If you get mineral buildup just wash with vinegar it will remove any residue just fine. But at our new farm we have salt water softner & the Alexapure will not filter out salt water guys. :( We have put it in storage with extra filters for grid down situations. Hopefully, we can get rid of the salt purification system eventually...I miss my Alexapure water - it's the best. My Patriot Supply is awesome for seeds too guys.

Hi Danny, My husband cut a piece of wood into a square and painted it white, then he cut a piece of flat copper, our water filter sits on the copper and the copper sits on the piece of wood at the kitchen sink, every now and then I check under the wood to make sure it's not going moldy, we have had it there for 5 years without mold or any problems. *Take a Ziploc bag seal, the thinnest part of the two pieces cut it from the bag and tape it to the outside of the bottom chamber, could also use a paper clip, one of those plastic coated twist ties etc. You will see the flow rate is increased exponentially it is extremely rapid, could also drill a very small hole through at the top of the bottom chamber. For now I'm just using a 1-inch piece of a ziplock bag seal taped to the outside bottom chamber.*

Yes, good idea to count the gallons. It did say that when the amount of water flow is significantly reduced (not due to having dried out) it's an indication that it's time to change the filter, so if you don't keep track you will still know when the filter needs to be changed.

have a berky for 14 years at our home off grid in northern ont. never had a problem and will produce lots of pure h2o. we have to let the filters dry for storage when not being used and to purge the filters takes just minutes. we first tried the katidyn system (ceramic) but didn't produce as fast and the filters didn't last long. I would recommend berky to anyone. its not the cost it is the quality .

I have had a Berkey for 2 years and the filters have always been a problem. Berkey has the most awful Customer Service. The prices of their filters just keep rising. I have 4 filters and it still takes forever to filter the water. I scrub them the way they say and still it drags out. The cost is as important as the quality because if you can't afford the huge costs of Berkey, what good is it to you? Additional costs for everything; ss spigot, water reader, flouride filters and black element filters have gone under $100 for 2 to approx. $170 for 2.... yes, cost in the end certainly matters to some as well as the quality.

I own a Berkey because our "city" water is so nasty to look at, let alone drink. I was wondering if the Alexapure filters will work in a Berkey, if anyone knows? I really don't wish to buy a new system if the filters will fit the Berkey. Hate wasting my money, and no, my health isn't a waste but if the filters will fit, that money can be spent on other prepping measures. So if anyone knows it these filters will fit a Berkey, please, let me know, OK? Great Video too and so informative for those who care about their health and well being. Thanks!!!

I just got mine in today and they included that exact stainless steel spigot in the box.. I've flushed it 3 times so far but still having some issues with the water flow.. however that being said I love that it's clean water with absolutely no taste

We’ve got a Berkey that we love, but the black element filters have been out of stock every time I have checked for the past few months. I found out last week that you can use Alexapure filters in your Berkey 🤯 Thankful that my family is going to continue to have clean, safe water.

@@DeepSouthHomestead I have had some trouble with it filtering the water. I talked to a lady at the company, she said to immerse it in water for 24 hours that it may have had an air bubble. I just got it back together. It sounds like it's dripping ok,for now anyway.

Thanks for the video! I own one and I take a fine salt grinder and I grind a small amount of Himalayan pink salt into the water. 84 essential minerals in pink salt. I also put a drop of iodine in since pink salt does not have iodine. When you filter out all the mineral content of water using theses filters - you’re essentially drinking dead water. Water rehydrates and replenishes the body mostly from the trace minerals which are essential for body function. In fact, drinking a lot of dead water will dehydrate you, bc it flushes all the minerals out of your body without replacing them.

    • @johnbecht3158
      @johnbecht3158 4 года назад +7

And pink salt is only %20 sodium so it’s not like drinking salt water, I think it tastes better than dead water. And I also use Lugalos %5 iodine tincture. Also another cool health secret is that in the 1899 Merck’s manual you will find turpentine listed as a cure all for almost every pathogen and illness. Pure Gum Spirits of Pine (organic turpentine) is an extremely powerful medicine. There are records of the slaves having saved the lives of slave owners using it as it was their main remedy for all health problems. The Diamond G brand on amazon has hundreds of reviews detailing borderline miraculous health success stories. Mary Poppins “spoonful of sugar” is actually a reference to how turpentine was consumed. You take a spoonful of sugar and drip drop turpentine onto the sugar until the there is no dry sugar left on the spoon. Take it down with a tall glass of water. Tastes very minty kinda like a strong black licorice almost. I personally had parasites in my stool after using it the first few days. It gets rid of candida, helps pneumonia and kicks a colds behind before it even gets going. The pharmaceutical industry paid a lot of money to launch a campaign in the 50s and 60s warning against its use as an oral medicine- for obvious reasons. This is an ancient remedy and I can vouch that it works. I have had moments of feeling that I definitely caught a bug, or I’m coming down with something, I run to my turpentine and the next day I’m right as rain. I’ve never actually let myself get fully sick and then tried it but I haven’t been sick since food poisoning Christmas 2016. Not even a cold and I know it’s because turpentine cured it before it overtook my immune system. It’s a blood purifier. Pine oil washing out your blood- great in baths too for skin. God bless everyone during this time, I’m glad I have it now more than ever.

You get vitamins and minerals from food, not supposed to get it from water! I have a Reverse Osmosis water filter - pure water! (that's what I was told by the rep who sold it to me)

OMG 😳 I just purchased my Alexapro I thought I had done everything correctly. I even was getting water for my dogs and us out the 2nd day. I filled the top part leaving 4” or so from full and I thought I’d have water when we woke up on our 3rd day. But nope 👎 nothing had went through except maybe 2 cups. I looked it over and couldn’t find what was wrong. The water taste great 👍 the best I’ve ever tried, but I sure wanted more then 2 cups over 12 hours or so. Well watching your video half way through my husband said, hey! Our filter don’t look like that! I put the filter hanging down into the fresh water. 🙄 Oh boy, and I thought I did a great job. 😂 THANK YOU, for doing such a great video I’d still be searching and trying to find out why it’s not working. I can actually hear water running through it right now. Before it was dripping 💧 a drop so slow I didn’t really hear anything.
We also received the stainless steal faucet. I guess it’s how they come now a year later. Thanks again for your great video!

Isn't it nice to have this video to see how they set it up? It would be easy to install it a different way that might not work the best. I'm glad to see how they set it up and hear what they say about it. That will be a great help to me when I set mine up.
I appreciate the information they give and things they show to make it easier to put it together and use.
It helps me to hear information about cautions and care needed in the future too.
I'm glad you found this video to watch when you first got yours and I've found it now before I ordered it.
I like to see the comments in addition to the video. There was a lot of information in the video, and I like seeing more information in the comments too.
I plan to check back here before I place my order and after I get it.
I'm using a different kind of filter water pitcher now, but this is on my list along with several other things I want to get as soon as I can.

Can't you keep the top full in the case your gone and it will eventually run to the bottom container? That way nothing can or will dry out.

: )Thank you for the video my. Quick question for you, how do you go about cleaning your filter?
    Thank you.
In my opinion if cleaned a certain way these filters as well as the Berkey water filters and other similar water filters can last almost indefinitely, working/ running like new, like it did the first month of operation, after every cleaning.

Danny - I ordered this on your recommendation.
They sent me a filter that increases the TDS after “filtration” and they claim TDS doesn’t matter!
My meter DOES work - the well water tests 422 TDS before Alexa and 473 AFTER. I’ve run several fills through.
They won’t call me back or send a replacement. They just keep telling me they can’t comment on TDS numbers and I should go by what their website says!
