This was one of the most memorable and roller coaster seasons in Tennessee that I’ve witnessed. I’m so glad that they were able to turn their season around.
I had grown weary of the UT football program with the revolving coaches. We had another new savior who I'd never heard of and didn't care; blah, blah, blah. I had decided to watch mostly Rick Barnes teams and give up on football, but I started paying attention when they hit the cellar post GA State. I was intrigued by this Pruitt fella. How he didn't let the noise phase he and his team. You could tell that he was in the weeds of everything going on. He wasn't blowing smoke to the press or trying to save his own butt. This guy was "real"! The pundants were calling him a terrible coach; way in over his head as a head coach. The AD had made a grave mistake. That's not what I saw. I saw a coach doing good work; staying the course, being transparent. In the end, he was right about his staff and team and proved the know-it-alls all wrong. Now for a turnaround season; maybe; but old timers remember the UT teams that never lost in November but were mediocre overall. November was and still is poor competition. Well, the same can be said for this team, however, this is not the program it once was, and so mediocre is pretty da** impressive from where they've been lately. Remember 0-8. Not anywhere close to that bad.
Great season. I remember saying during the Miss. ST game, the team (especially the defense) was playing different, with more intensity. I honestly believe that was this seasons turning point. Ugh, as a Vols fan, and being owned by Florida for so long I hate you, but as a fan of sportsmanship and competition, y'all have had our number for so long I can't say shit to you. Hopefully both teams keep that rivalry going for years to come, makes for some nail-biting games.

I was at that game vs Oklahoma that Admiral Schofield is talking about. Me and my buddies bought tickets on the 5th row near the 40 yard line. Yes we dropped some dough haha. But the noise level was the most I’ve ever heard. My eardrums were in so much pain and felt like they were wobbling. Even though we lost, it was the second greatest memory I’ve had in Neyland. First being the epic comeback vs Florida. THE CHILLS OF NEYLAND STADIUM
Eric Grey and the O-Line are something to be excited about. Gonna miss J.J. and Marquez's tough running and ability to adjust to the ball at the point of attack, but the Saints and Niners picked up some quality receivers.
I'm a BIG Michigan State fan but I've always had a solf sport for Tennessee since I had family go there but you guys really came back to a point this past season

A reporter after a wind asked him why did he change personnel at a particular point in the game. He looked at the reporter eyes to eyes and said the reason was and I quote Pruit. ( BECAUSE I WANTED TO ) I SAID I LIKE THIS GUY. GO VOLS FOREVER. MEMPHIS TN
I was sitting basically on the field for the bowl game, right at the goal line of the checkerboards... I've never felt anything like it seeing Eric Gray punch it in for the game winner. It's a shame all the Indiana folks I met were so nice
With Tennessee getting all these 5 and 4 star recruits, man 2020 could be something special. I'm still not sold on our qb situation, but guarantano would be who I'd roll with. Most experience and I love his attitude toward the game. Hes a winner, and hates losing. Idk, I always have high hopes, but seems like finally Pruitt has things going in the right direction.
Even though I hate Tennessee with a passion due to being a lifetime Alabama fan, I’m glad that Tennessee is finding their footing again. Coach Jeremy Pruitt is turning around the once great program and trying to take them back to the promiseland. Last year’s Tennessee Volunteer team made tremendous leaps that I don’t think anyone really expected. Going from 2-4 to ending the season at 7-5 and winning their bowl game? How much better could it get for a team that went 5-7 the year prior and turn it around just like that. But still, ROLL TIDE ROLL

He won us the Kentucky game when Maurer ok scored 3 in the first half and JG comes in, in the second half and scores 3 touchdowns and we won, then the Missouri game where Guarantano started and threw for 415 yards which is top 3 for most every yards thrown by a Tennessee quarterback, then he won SEC player of the week, then he started in both the Vanderbilt and bowl game and we won both. He didn’t start out the season well but he is so good now and we need him next year. Oh and I’m only 13 years old and apparently you don’t know anything because he is the reason we went to a bowl game and the whole second half of the season was amazing for him. Well to bad for you because he is coming back next year and JG will lay the smack down on the schedules ass. JG

He nearly cost us the bowl game with his stupid ass plays. Dude should have transferred out especially with the high quality talent we have in the program RIGHT NOW. We still have Maurer and we added Bailey, Holiday, with Hill being eligible this year. JG is slow, cant read a defense, and heavily relied on Callaway/Jennings to bail his ass out on multiple occasions because he threw up lame duck passes or a 3 yard hitch routes that they broke for a big gain

Vandy has the worst defense in the SEC and he couldn’t even throw against them. The bowl game he just looked flat out pitiful. The last scoring drive was him throwing two check downs to Gray and Gray topping it off with a touchdown. He is going on his 4th year and still is shaken against just about every team.
