I liked my 200 and love my Elise. Lotus is my passion mainly for feel reasons and weight. Bottom line the UK public killed both because of the love of German barges. Thanks for the video, great job.

Yeah they missed a trick there. The 200 or 25 with a ‘tuned by lotus’ suspension set up and a breathed on k series would have been awesome. Keep the brm as the traditional look it was, the lotus could have been all about driving. They could have even tuned the mgf a bit. Shame

Lotus Engineering the development and consultancy side of Lotus has worked with most other car companies over the years. Some like to advertise the association Proton Satria GTi for example. Whilst more reserved Swedish safety/reliability orientated companies prefer to keep it quiet.

One dinner time I was talking with one of my (three!) managers about the Elise in the visitor's car park. He really liked them. And I said yes they are amazing with their super light glued aluminium chassis. Glued chassis he asked. Yes I replied and told him about the wonderful process. He started to look a bit upset and said he had now gone off the idea of the Elise with its glued chassis. He was not placated when I asked him about his holidays and where he was flying to in a few weeks time. Why did I want to know that he asked and why the sudden change of subject. Well I said that is from where this glued aluminium technology comes the aircraft industry and that all these modern airliners have glued wings. He didn't talk to me for a few hours.
