Grant Gordy and Joe K. Walsh stopped by the Fretboard Journal magazine offices to perform "Roly Poly," the Western swing classic penned by Fred Rose.
Walsh is playing Nugget mandolin #302, built by Mike Kemnitzer. Gordy is playing a 1944 Martin 000-18.

Heard Joe and Grant play this tune at a workshop at Grey Fox a few weeks back. Wow. Joe pulls tremendous tone out of the beautiful Nugget and few guys build a better one than Mike Kemnitzer!

I actually like it better than his black Gilchrist. The Nugget has a bit more bite. And of course Joe knows how to get killer tone out of a mandolin!
