Just received my Warbonnett Blackbird hammock and MJ tarp. WOW! I can't believe how lightweight this rig is including stakes. I still have some bling coming in from Dutch, but shouldn't add too much to the weight. Great stuff Shug, thanks for all the tips and effort you put forth on gear reviews as well as how to's for Noobs.

That shot in the beginning of the grouse reminded of a hike I did on the A/T. I had a grouse come out at me making an awful noise and flapping her wings at me. I just kept moving she was obviously protective of her young. It was a beautiful thing!

It's funny how some people will remind us of our own self when we were younger. Any trail buddy that when you head out into the woods and get along with is a blessing. Nothing spoils a trip if two people head out on the trail and they clash in personality. Makes for a long trip... Have many more great trips shug.

The hiking scenery in Minnesota is different than here in Northern California, but I like your Minnesota vids because they remind me of growing up in Upstate New York, the greens, the lakes, not exactly the same, but close. Sometimes I get all misty watching them, especially when you do your Irish accent because my Dad was Irish and he used to take us kids camping. And then when you juggle moose poop I laugh. I get a plethora of emotions watching your vids.

Do you carry any GPS to make sure you're on the trail?
Seems like that would be a good idea along with the map and compass.
Do you have a particular GPS model you would recommend?

I don't mean to come across condescending.
This is kind of related to my other comment. Thinking of doing some wild camping in japan. There are bears and bores in the mountains in parts out here. That's why I asked about the scat on the other video.
Again thanks for taking the time to make these videos. All the best.

You should get GSI Kung Foon. Not that its real practical. But its really fun to say. If you like asain food than it just makes the whole experience more real. You could also use it to catch flies.

Shug, although I have enjoyed several of your videos, up to now I've resisted subscribing. However, after watching you playfully juggle turds and throw them at an innocent young man, you are my new father figure. One sub!
