Mate try the PCV valve. We have the same problem with our Meriva. It's a fault code P0171. There is a couple of videos on RUclips about the valve. Worth a try. 😊

Thanks Barry, I'll look into this. Opel service center cleaned the throttle body but the car is still having this problem even though the check engine light is no longer coming on. Strangely, as the weather is getting warmer, I feel the problem slowly waining away and the car rarely idles weakly at the traffic lights. Will update on this.

@@barry8776 I hope so. We "upgraded" from a simple astra g 2005 to this car hoping to benefit from it being more mordern, but I've been tackling small problems ever since. The Astra g was flawless and my 3 year old daughter still asks every week when it will be back from the mechanic.

@@furtivedig you mean the maf sensor could be my engine problem?

@@diyroby732 I was just saying that it would be easier if the sensor could be pulled out of the "pipe" assembly.
get yourself a crc maf sensor cleaner or a good electrical component cleaner and give it a good spray once you removed it.

@@furtivedig ok thanks. I'll try that. In this video I was mostly concerned with the air filter and if it needed changing.
