@@Kaadeeem absolutely true brother. At that point he was fighting to make sure his brothers went home and that is why he stands guard at the gates of heaven now. Absolute beast of a man.
There’s countless stories of soldiers going above and beyond for their country and their brothers in arms. There was a gurka that literally had his entire hand blown off by a Japanese grenade and held off an entire assault by himself and his bolt action rifle with the only thing close to his position was the kukri he used to mark where the enemy shall not pass saying the phrase “come face a gurka”
First let me say from a US Marine to a Royal Marine Semper Fi brother much respect for your service. I was an 8654/0326 (Reconnaissance Man Parachute and Combatant Diver Qualified) for 22 of the 24 years i honorably served. I also had the honor of operating with some of Her Majesties Royal Marines they were some of the finest men i ever operated with. Now as for the video i also found it difficult to watch because i had the privilege of knowing the man personally. When i first heard about what had happened i was shocked, but the shock wore off quickly. Why he did what he did is just who he was as a man he had a love for his fellow brothers that ran very deep. As a man of honor that he was he layed down his life to save the lives of others even though he didn't know many of them. He was a great man down to earth and easy to get along with. It's my honor to have known him on a personal level.
I also am a US Marine, 0341 (Mortarman) Bravo Company/3rd Battalion "The Balls of the Corps"/1st Marines . And like you, I had the honor and good fortune to serve along side 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland "THE BLACK WATCH" in Fallujah. I never had the honor to meet MSgyt Chapman he was defiantly SQUARED AWAY!!! Mission and Team 1st, self 2nd!!! May God bless him and take him into his his almighty embrace and everlasting Paradise.
Thank u for your service sir. All of us Americans, me included will never forget. Also, as an immigrant who is now an American citizen, my family is grateful . My father was a child during WWII in the Philippines and American soldiers saved him from Japanese soldiers. He actually saw a Japanese soldier commit a kamikaze (bombed himself) because he didn’t want to be captured by American soldiers. So, if my father died that day, my siblings and I would’ve never exists. He’s the only boy in his family and his sisters never had kids. I’m only 42 but I’ve always loved my Dad’s WWII stories and all the veterans I’ve talked to since then, because without their sacrifices more people would’ve lost their lives. That’s why I will always remember.
Sad to know that his team left him after such a heroic act thinking he had been killed. Imagine recovering and knowing youre on your own with multiple gunshot wounds and having the heart to get up grab your weapon and keep fighting for your comrades. Heroic man.
Carkua pretty sure that SEAL team leader claimed he had checked Chapman’s pulse before they left, if that’s true the SEAL who got that MOH is a piece of shit and doesn’t deserve it
@@HeyImTiP I would say its a lie to cover his own back for abandoning his man. They set up the whole operation to save another man and abandon this hero. a piece of shit is right
As the saying goes, no man gets left behind. Chapman would have known this. What people don’t realize is that when he woke up after having been shot the first time, he probably didn’t think he had been abandoned but rather that everyone else had been killed. He was willing to die for his brothers because he thought they had done the same for him. Unfortunately for Chapman he fought to the death for brothers who abandoned him and tried to cover up his heroic actions. The ultimate discredit to a great man. Thank god the truth came out and the real hero was recognized.
I was gonna comment and say “it really does” but then I saw someone else said it word for word. I agree with you both- once you hear this story it’s hard to get it out of your mind.
"Lord make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hand he faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me victory over my foes and those who would wish to do harm to me and mine. Let not my last thought be 'if only I had my gun'. And Lord if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in a pile of empty brass" 🙏
Amen, massive respect for Chapman. I’m not willing to give a crumb of bread to my brother and here’s Chapman giving his life for people he doesn’t even know.
David Amaya seems a bit wrong to say that tbh. He believed in what he was doing and wanted to protect his team who he would see as his brothers. No matter what you think of the SEALs, this man is a hero
I've seen a reaction with a veteran and his kid. He cried when he saw this it devastated me. What gets me is the fact that this isn't the first person to sacrifice themselves like this...it breaks my ❤
As an American I thank you that you feel solidarity with such a warrior as Chapman that fought fiercely and tirelessly from the front and layed down his life under as hail of fire so that his brothers might live.
Exactly, doesn't matter what faction, country one is fighting. This applies for everyone(hopefully the good side) That we simply just want to live but better yet save the man next to us.
This is the ultimate expression of love. Hatred, anger, and ignorance can propel a person to do things seemingly impossible... but there are limits. A deep and abiding love for one's teammates transcends those boundaries. Hate and anger cools and falls away. Love fills your heart and will sustain you beyond the point of certain death or when lesser men will falter. To endure such pain and misery, to pick yourself up and go forward, to lay down your life so that others may live, those are the hallmarks of heroes. May God bless and keep all those who give their last breath in service to others.
The video is unclear about that- he got one, the Air Force version, posthumously. No one has gotten two in over a hundred years - and many of those who did in the First World War are cases of a soldier or marine given both the Army AND Navy versions for the same incident when the forces were fighting together. I think the “two” mentioned in the video, and the joint nature of the battle, means that theoretically another branch could nominate him, but two for the same battle is frowned upon nowadays (there was actually regulations against it until recently).
@@mjpraetorian4386 honestly in 2020 they would try to change the story to some social justice cause and make it a struggle of someone in sexual transition or some bs. It’s what they do. It’s why Hollywood is dead and mocked at “award shows” by actually woke people like Ricky Gervais.

If you're interested, the game Medal of Honor (2010) is actually about Operation Anaconda and the battle for Shahikot Valley and Takur Ghar, and features a fictionalized version of these events. You switch back and forth between Seals, Rangers, and Delta operatives during the four-day battle and it's actually very authentic aside from some events being slightly altered or exaggerated for gameplay's sake.

He didnt die he got called upon by Oden himself to help keep Asgaard safe. As shall he be remembered by this glorious day.
Thank u for ur service
Sad to know that his team left him after such a heroic act thinking he had been killed. Imagine recovering and knowing youre on your own with multiple gunshot wounds and having the heart to get up grab your weapon and keep fighting for your comrades. Heroic man.

As the saying goes, no man gets left behind. Chapman would have known this. What people don’t realize is that when he woke up after having been shot the first time, he probably didn’t think he had been abandoned but rather that everyone else had been killed. He was willing to die for his brothers because he thought they had done the same for him. This is the ultimate expression of love. Hatred, anger, and ignorance can propel a person to do things seemingly impossible... but there are limits. A deep and abiding love for one's teammates transcends those boundaries. Hate and anger cools and falls away. To endure such pain and misery, to pick yourself up and go forward, to lay down your life so that others may live, those are the hallmarks of heroes. May God bless and keep all those who give their last breath in service to others.

In case you weren’t aware, the American Medal of Honor is - more or less - the equivalent of the British Victoria Cross.
I thought it was more like a dozen teas. That's a heavy honour
I never knew the British equivalent. That's great to know.
Ahh so to get 2 of them that's impressive
The video is unclear about that- he got one, the Air Force version, posthumously. No one has gotten two in over a hundred years - and many of those who did in the First World War are cases of a soldier or marine given both the Army AND Navy versions for the same incident when the forces were fighting together. I think the “two” mentioned in the video, and the joint nature of the battle, means that theoretically another branch could nominate him, but two for the same battle is frowned upon nowadays (there was actually regulations against it until recently).
