- The task I set myself was to cut out the bucket without mechanical processing, to preserve, if possible, the authenticity of the method and appearance. Although the last time I cut buckets was during my student days, that is, a hundred years ago! And last spring I cut a lime log from the park - there was a big spring popilka there - and decided to test my strength. Can I? I was pleasantly surprised. Hands remember something! Only on the palm of the "bubbles" planted with unaccustomed.
⠀
I sculpt the shape by eye, arbitrarily, but I have some observation - both live examples and pictures. And in my student days, even though I was studying stone work at that time, we were not forbidden to get acquainted with other materials in our free time. And so we got acquainted: on the hump they dragged heavy logs from the Abramtsevo estate to the school to "gnaw the log of science" in the workshops there.
⠀
This bucket has already managed to visit the Novgorod exhibition "Comprehending traditions" (even a diploma was awarded, yeah). And I still have the logs from the ancient lime trees of the park. I dream of building something large-scale, for example, a brother! I will probably choose a "model" for inspiration from the Bobrinsky tables. The thing should come out notable.
