Golf Pilot I just got the 650 tonight instead of the whole family . I like it so far ! Wanted a jumping off point from GA to bigger jets without going full 737 lol. So I like this so far for sure ! FMS is a pretty big learning curve tho. Does anyone know if me learning this planes will translate to the airliners ? I know that they aren’t exactly the same I’m just wondering

I would like to say, I’ve been flying FSX for a long time till I changed to X plane. Your tutorials and what you have done for the flight sim community is remarkable. ERJ's are really cute sleek planes,even though they have been used for commercial use, they have this look of a corporate jet..i would agree the 3D modeling on the landing gear is truly impressive, the cockpit also is done very well, even give some areas a look of ware & tear...the cabin to me is just ok. i love that tab checklist, beautiful lighting in the cockpit, the sounds are really good as well.
Whenever I want to treat myself to a new aircraft, I always go see what Q8 thinks about it first! thanks for the great reviews.

I will say that I think $90 is well worth 5 AC and they are done very well as you have pointed out. I'm still stunned by the scenery you discovered and shared with us. Honestly I think the missing authentic FMS is not due to userfriendly representation rather than just too much work to actually get done in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately this is too often the case in X-Plane.

Does the other CDU still work. I think’s is the default laminar research cdu. That’s the only cdu I know how to program and i don’t know a lot.

I do tend to agree with Phoenix 990. It is a nice aircraft, and superbly introduced to us by your good-self, but the price tag is around a study level type add-on, while the aircraft is seemingly very nice and carefully modeled, I think the $89.95 asking price quite possibly exceeds the expectations of the longer serving members of XP-11 community.

I bought it 7 days ago. It is a beautiful aircraft (visually). I'm still familiarizing myself with the systems - FMS, autopilot, etc. It has two different types of FMSs. So far I prefer the Tekton FMS system because it allows programming of airways and performance info. Maybe I just haven't figured out how to do it on the other FMS, but will keep trying. I would say the plane is well worth the $50 that I paid for it.

The error you had in the beginning is due to the red beacon being off. Took me a second to figure that one out! Also, can you review the use of the AP and doing a VNAV approach? I can’t get the aircraft to intercept the GS for the life of me!!
The 145 doesnt have VNAV, in the real aircraft you can sort of force a VNAV into the FMS but you still have to fly it manually down. To intercept the GS make sure the ILS freq is set, set your CDI to green needles by pressing the little black nav button on the panel infront of each pilot then with the auto pilot in HDG mode press AP on the auto pilot panel. It will only grab it if you meet it from underneath the GS.

A very nice video. But I did notice near the end of the video it was difficult to hear you over the engine noise, when you were looking out of the window at the left wing. I watched this on my phone.

I was hoping for a new and more improved FMC especially the VNAV setup which is one of the reasons I prefer SSG products over X-Crafts. But, in terms of modeling, they have done a good job...not sure if I can justify the price tag for this project. Hopefully, this will light up the fire under the CRJ-700 development progress at SSG.
VNAV is only just only just now coming to these jets in real life. Many still dont have it.
@@nathandburton Yes, I understand - wishful thinking. But the TEKTON FMS even in the E170/195 which are equipped with VNAV configuring the FMS is possible but not very practical if you don't want to drop like a manhole cover.

The light logic for all buttons in the emb 145 is “normal config for flight”. You had the packs off. The apu is “dark” for off because it is not normally used in flight. Your overhead should be all dark when configured for flight. Also, the dfdr fail message was because your beacon was off. The data flight recorder is tied to the beacon.
Windshield heat should remain off when on the ground and not in flight, or in in-flight icing conditions to prevent overheating the windshield. Those lights are the only ones that should be lit, indicating off. With the electric hydraulic pumps in the off position, there should be a blue advisory message on the EICAS screen. Third, With ref engine anti ice ON selected in the EICAS, it should be screaming at you with anti ice knob in the “ALL” position. It should be a disagreement. Typically the engine anti ice SELECTION is OFF in the EICAS unless taking off in icing conditions, and anti ice knob (right overhead panel) in the ALL position. And that FMS sucks. FLC (Flight Level Change) on the autopilot panel, should only slow VS to about 1,000 FPM to allow the a/c to accelerate to 240kts. Not level off or descend. At 10,000ft, FLC will lower the nose again to allow acceleration to 270kts climb speed. At around FL240 (?), FLC will change from 270kt climb speed, to Mach .56 climb speed. Once throttles are placed in the Take Off detent, and you’ve selected “Climb” in the power selection below throttle quadrant, the FADEC will control the engine power. Absolutely no need to touch the throttles again until you’ve reached cruise altitude while in FLC mode. ERJ-145 is same as ERJ-135. 😊
@@michaellarson5191 our ERJ used the UNS as a FMS. In regards to the windshield heat, ours was turned on during our Taxi Checklist ( I think, I’ve brain dumped since moving on). I do remember the windshield heat had two modes, high and low. High heat was commanded on while in icing.
I picked up the 135 .. great aircraft but I feel the interior engine sounds should be better. The external sounds on the other hand are quite good.
Yes from this video it seems it is lacking some bass.

Why to buy whole family? Especially with ERJ/CRJ families, airlines have different models, and if you want's to be covered with VA xp ... then you buy whole family, so you can fly United, Eagle, different european airlines etc.

I agree, one of the bunch will do it for sure. A great aircraft to fly.
Keen to purchase this aircraft, but my reluctance is around the user-friendliness in relation to VR. I want to know if the on-screen elements such as checklists actually function well. If anyone has used this in VR, I'd love to know about your experience.

$90 for an inaccurate FMC and mediocre sounds is a joke. $90 for any aircraft is steep so they better be exceptional, PMDG quality for that price. This one is clearly not. Sell it for $45 for the whole package I’d buy it
90 dollars for like 5 planes, each plane by itself is 50 dollars, its a deal, if you dont like it dont buy it
You can't really say that the FMC is inaccurate. It's an accurate Tekton FMC. They may not have modeled the actual FMC from the real jets, but it's clear in all their sales material. No doubt, you do get what you pay for. It's an excellent aircraft. Such a blast to fly.
@@nathandburton Plus it would cost thousands to get the real fmc modeled correctly and it would be very hard for people to learn so thats also why they have the stock in there

Thanks for another great review. I bought the Legacy 650 and was very disappointed. The lack of system depth and poor sound and texture work in the passenger cabin was a let down considering the aircraft cost me $49.95. I've asked for a refund.

You forgot to turn on the hydraulics, with them off the hydraulics still work. Disappointing.
They still work because each of the 2 systems can be powered by either the engine pumps or the electric pumps. The switches on the overhead panel control just the electric pumps.
User friendly = extremely overpriced....

Dont buy this Garbage Plane X-Crafts Sent me the ERJ135 instead of what i ordered (The ERJ145). This is total Rubbish Would not recommend. Half the systems even work.
