From Sam’s we do monthly
1 10lb of ground beef
4-5 rotisserie chickens
1 8-10 pork tenderloin ( 1/2 for pork chops we cut it ourselves, other half for pulled pork).
The sausage that you use with you green beans, potatoes crock pot recipe I can’t remember the name. There’s 3 in a package.
Over time this will help stock your freezer. 💜
That’s a great idea with Pork tenderloin saw a great price on ur at our local HEB but never thought of cutting it for pork chops 🤔I really thought I don’t know how to cook one so I didn’t buy it. Now after ur ideas wish I would have 🤦🏻♀️
Oh my gosh this helped me!! We are a family of 7 and I need to revamp my grocery budget! This is super healthful in addition to what Abby said. Thanks for your comment!! Writing this down now!!
Don't forget to make broth with the chicken bones to stretch even further!
When I was raising my kids we had breakfast once week like French toast, Pancakes, another night we had a meatless dinner such as maybe soup or pasta with no meat. I know things are very expensive but I hardly ever had any kinds of snack except maybe chips or popcorn. Yes that ground beef and chicken are good so many kinds of different ways to use both.
The members mark peanut butter is seriously the BEST!!!
Oh I haven’t tried it I buy Jif tried other brands but we love Jif the best I buy at Sams 2 Pk there lasts long time. Will try it next time I go to Sam’s maybe it’s like Jif 🤔
You can make bone broth in your slow cooker from the chicken bones and use it in your stews. Adds so much flavor and it’s so good and easy to make
Would you mind sharing the exact process?? I've been trying to figure this out for our family. :)
I took a large pot and actually put the entire chicken carcass in the pot and covered it with water. I had some onion skins and wilted celery. I was going to trash. Made a really flavorful broth. Simmered for a couple of hours. I left in the pot and let it cool and strained the broth. I poured in freezer containers. You can also pour in ice cube trays and freeze. Then, place the frozen cubes in freezer bags.
Thanks for sharing always like trying to find ways to save money on groceries. And van is so cute he such a happy baby.
About those chickens! Put the skin and bones in a crockpot. Fill with water and cook on low for about 8 hours. Makes the BEST bone broth.
I did 2 chickens and got about 2 gallons of bone broth off of them😊
Girl. Take that chicken off the bone & shred it with your mixer. sooooo much easier :)
After the holidays, grab as many turkeys and spiral hams etc. They will be cheap. And you can really make them stretch for meals once cooked. I did one huge spiral ham for a dinner, then left overs for dinner, and then I did a homemade ham and bean soup that last like 3-4 days. Amazing. A week's worth just from one ham
Thanks for sharing... we also do 1x a month Sam's haul and budget accordingly. We actually try to rotate thru bulk items on a 3-4 month basis. We generally buy our meat every 3 months from a local butcher that only uses local farmers, but follow him for "special sales." Otherwise, we try to locally shop for fresh produce and dairy from local groceries that run weekly sales. ❤
Hey! I heard you say you buy cat litter, saving tip is to use horse pine pellets for litter instead of actual cat litter! Can get a 40lb bag for like $7 at your local farm and fleet store, use a little in there and when you’re ready to change just throw it away! I was super skeptical at first but now I wouldn’t go back, we’ve been doing that for about 6 months now and love it! Not to mention it has saved us so much money, and no more scooping! Win-win!
What you did by buying big thing of hamband 3 rotisserie chickens was so smart. Meat can be a big part of the grocery budget. I am amazed you can stick to $600 a month. I need to be more diligent.
It can be done if u buy wisely 😂
Love your video, Abby!! Great money saving tips & love the sweet way you interact with all your kids!! Looking forward to any more awesome videos w/recipes too!! Thanks so much for sharing with us! 😊
You have the most realistic grocery hauls!
Love the video! Please keep posting these!
Mow up your leaves. No bagging. Great video!!
Really enjoy this one!
Thank you so much Abby for sharing these money saving tips
Good ideas 🤗 I like that chicken hack idea. 😉 momma to 5 so anything rotisserie chicken can help is a win win
🤗
I loved this video! Thanks for sharing with us. I think you did a great mix of convenience foods and more frugal choices. Moderation is so important to a good quality of life on a budget. 😊
I can't wait for the Christmas video ❤🎄🎁
Love this.
That’s great! Love this! ❤
Throw the carcass in the instant pot and make a chicken broth
So interesting to see the difference in prices, i live in europe and the produce here is cheaper but other things are more expensive, i can buy 2 kilo's of apples for 2 dollars, apples grow here, but chese is so mutch more expensive and meat to
Really great haul. Thanks for sharing!😁
Love your videos!!
Thank you for the video.. Abby and your beautiful family have a wonderful day....
This is so helpful, thank you!
I wouldnt recommend buying the premade burger patties at sams anyways! They have soy in them, which in my opinion you really arent getting your moneys worth. Aldi and walmart are 100% beef.
Is that why the have a taste my husband says don’t buy those anymore has an after taste is that Soy ?
I got Sams ready made ones. All beef don’t have soy ?
These are my fav videos ❤
Yes good on the chicken you get chicken and make free broth win their is a casserole where you mix chicken veggies and other stuff top with biscuits soo soo good that makes two meals for us and sometime sif i make chicken noodle soup we just flavor the chicken broth and dont even use chicken my kids dont even mind . Good haul
Great ideas!!
Very Good Deals Abby 😁
Awesome haul, thanks
You are doing a great job budgeting and making things stretch. I enjoy all your videos and tips you share. We buy our meats in bulk at Sam's Club and freeze individually also. It is also nice for household items too, once you build up a stock, which takes a while. Then i wait for the sales rotation and buy enough to last until the next sale, if i can afford it. Thank you so much for sharing today 😊❤
what a great idea with the rotisserie chickens i think you did really great for 6 people i was wondering if you wouldnt mind showing us how you do your meal prep i get those beef logs too and bag them but i mean like for your meals and stuff i've been stuck on meal ideas lately louie is so cute i love how van was gently petting him so cute!
Yes me too 🙋🏻♀️
Need meal ideas
Proud of you Abby pray ur food stretches til next haul is needed. I’m glad u took the advice of Sams club to buy in bulk what u need that u don’t need to but weekly like bathroom tissue trash bags u didn’t get members mark paper towels that lasts a long time is useful. Lol glad u got meats n will freeze for meals that’s awesome so proud of u May it be worth it n save u money. Thanks for sharing. 🤗
Hey Girl, Happy Thursday. I think $100 per person a month is a good idea because that’s a reasonable amount. ❤ I love getting household items in bulk from Sam’s club because it will last a long time compared to any other store. ❤ I enjoy all of your budget friendly videos.
Hi Abby! Did you know HEB offers their own credit card? I read that it pays you 5% cash back on all HEB brand purchases. That may be helpful to you? 🤔
Other than the rotisserie chickens, we do the same thing at Sam’s. Shop the deals at grocery stores for everything else. I enjoyed this video. Let us know how the chicken idea works out. I might try that myself!
Wow never thought to do that w the sams rotisserie chicken. I just went Saturday and bought chicken thighs so I’ll go back and try the rotisserie chicken. Love it!
It’s a great idea right. Never thought of doing that with rotisserie tho I do that with Hamburger meat , pork chops divide ,big packs n freeze.
very good we use Sams for gas and some things to buy bulk items. I found other stores were better for the 2 of us for meats but eh $5.00 chicken hack I will do next time. I have 6 months of meats and cheeses in my deep freezer now so all I have to do is keep the dog and cat fed with the usual eggs milk creamers
And the bones you can make broth on the crock pot over night
I have a family of 6 too! ❤ What I do with the 18 count of burgers from Sam’s is have burgers one night and then make crockpot Salisbury steak with the leftover patties.
We have a Costco and a sams club and sams is still cheaper for us on basics. Like for example breakfast sausage is like 2.00 less and with more meat in the pack. Than Costco. But Costco has more packaged “healthy” brands. But it’s hard to know how much cheaper unless you already shop like super expensive brands like that. Like primal kitchen. Sams doesn’t have those brands. Idk if that helps but I don’t think your missing out on Costco.
That’s a very tight budget I’m impressed ! I spend 1k for three of us 😮. That’s all Walmart mostly generic
Wow..😅😮
Thank you for the video stay safe and God bless sending you lots of love and blessings 🙏🌹🎃
Throw those chicken carcass in a big stock pot or slow cooker for broth. Put in freezer bag and next time you need chicken broth just pull out of freezer. That will save you a little money too.
Do you shop drug stores for your toiletries? Great way to stretch your budget and get items for pennies on the dollar.
I do this! It really helps a lot.
Can you elaborate on this? Would love to know more on how to save on this. Do you do couponing?
Can u give us an example on drug stores which ones u save at plz do u use coupons there first thing I think of is Walgreens that’s to expensive 🤷🏻♀️
Please where how much do u save or spend 😂
Sweet baby ❤
What a great video. I have a Sam's club membership. I have Costco and BJ's wholesale too. Haha.
I really don't like Costco. It's pricey. But, their trash bags are so far the best quality. Sam's is my favorite store though. I'm definitely going to do your ideas with the chicken and beef. I really like ground beef recipes. I love Rotisserie chicken. We both shop so much alike. We are so similar it's crazy. Lol
He is such a cutie 😊
Take the bones from that chicken and make homemade chicken stock!!!!!!!
I buy my gallon of Olive oil at Sam's way cheaper
I have not had a good experience the last two times I brought home a chicken from Sam's. They were not fully cooked.
😮 oh no!
Sometimes I get mine like that but I put leg qrts in microwave to continue cooking just a few mins 5 maybe cause I have gotten a couple that were taken out to soon. Just the dark meat anyway was not cooked . Last one was ok 😅
Cause I was about to stop buying them at Sams n call them ask them to make sure they don’t take out to soon cause not fully cooked or I would get sidetracked n forget to call them to let them know. But love the convenience of buying them.
❤️
I do have a question. Isn’t it a waste of money paying the pick up fee and the other prices that you’re charged for somebody shopping for you? I’ve been looking into this for myself that’s why I asking.
Walmart does not charge a pick up fee. My local grocery store does - therefore I do not use it unless I have a promotional coupon to make it worth it. I live in the North - no where near Texas. I am cheap and won’t pay a pick up fee or delivery fee. 🤷🏻♀️ I also don’t have little kids - so it’s all what it’s worth to you I guess.
Sam’s doesn’t charge pickup either. I think Aldi does but when you have small kids it’s worth it. It’s also worth it to keep you out of the store from spending extra money from stuff you see. So to me it balances out. Sometimes your time is worth saving too with small kids as well.
For Sam's club... if she got the plus membership (around $100 a yr) she gets free pick up and earns cash back on purchases. If she got a regular membership ($45 a year unless it went up since i got it) she would pay $4 fee for pick up. Before prices skyrocketed i was able to spend enough at Sam's club each year to pay for my plus membership with the cash back rewards and save money on what i bought compared to regular stores. Also, when trying to stay in a strict budget paying a pickup fee may save her money with not buying other things, which is always my downfall (lol especially if my husband goes with me, which usually turns a $100 trip into a $200-300 trip).
🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
crawling baby!
Let us know what meals u why’ll be cooking with the chicken n Hamburger meat excited to see n get ideas.
Will sorry be making !
