In retrospect, I’m always struck how endlessly polite, patient and kind Duran Duran members were to even their neediest of fans.
Well, a lot of times they were so coked out of their minds that they barely knew which way was up, but yeah. They had manners.
John admitted in his book that he was very arrogant back then but having an addiction messes with your head as well as your health and well being but he was still geogeous and so glad he got his life on track.

I've just read about this in the book. What a coincidence! He was embarassed at this whole appearance and mainly at that sentence "have you been there lately?" when a fan asked for Birmingham. That was quite arrogant of him.. It was one of his sleepless nights, filled with..oh you know that..that night he partied hard with Freddie and Queen..but I thought this was the end of '85, not 86..as this would take place right before simon's wedding with yasmin.
Everyone has a past. Leave him alone! He wrote the book but must everyone harp on only one part of his life that is way different now. The book was to talk about his sobriety, his childhood and his and DD's success not to harp on his past indiscretions. He is a inspiration because he overcame his demons.

I can't help but cringe in embarrassment for JT as I watch him make a complete ass of himself. Yes, I am aware that he was more than likely high on cocaine AND more than a bit intoxicated, but I always believed he and DD tried to be professional during promotional interviews. This is the complete opposite.
