People seem to forget that sedation affects animals differently and especially one of Kong's size who's to say that his metabolism didn't burn off the sedation a lot faster and taken to account that adrenaline rushes the system and gives you a large boost in stamina aka fight! If sedation was a case, well Godzilla was on land and still severely beat Kong even though Kong had a weapon and stabbed it directly into Godzilla's thigh and Godzilla pulled it out like it was nothing. So don't overplay the whole sedation BS because Godzilla was still a boss and pimp slapped Kong with one hand knocking him down, while Kong had to throw all his weight into his shoulder to not got delivered back into the ocean.
Godzilla and Kong fought three times in that movie. The first time Godzilla nearly killed him on the ship. The Second time kong beat the Gman. The third time Godzilla burned a whole in the earth for a few hundred miles. He was exhausted.
Kong is smarter than Godzilla and it shows. Kong is even better at dodging attacks. But Godzilla had to adapt to another new monster to fight. Kong proved how smart he was by bowing down to Godzilla. They were both very tired from the last fight.
And I also think it’s an inconsistent writing problem, the people who make these movies mess with all of the monsters capabilities and size to make it where they can actually have a movie, especially Godzilla

Had Kong died at the end, the film, and the rest of the series would have been fine.
Is it better as it happened, probably. But to say there's no plot without Kong, and then that the Kong is half why it's good when Godzilla has had far better solo films is just wrong.
The way I like to look at it is Godzilla and Kong have basically the same amount of strength however Godzilla is just far far more durable which is how he can box with whoever the fuck he wants

People seem to forget that sedation affects animals differently and especially one of Kong's size who's to say that his metabolism didn't burn off the sedation a lot faster and taken to account that adrenaline rushes the system and gives you a large boost in stamina aka fight!
If sedation was a case, well Godzilla was on land and still severely beat Kong even though Kong had a weapon and stabbed it directly into Godzilla's thigh and Godzilla pulled it out like it was nothing.
So don't overplay the whole sedation BS because Godzilla was still a boss and pimp slapped Kong with one hand knocking him down, while Kong had to throw all his weight into his shoulder to not got delivered back into the ocean.
Let’s forget to mention Godzilla stepped on Kong and it was required the use of electric shock to bring Kong back to life
Godzilla and Kong fought three times in that movie. The first time Godzilla nearly killed him on the ship. The Second time kong beat the Gman. The third time Godzilla burned a whole in the earth for a few hundred miles. He was exhausted.
Kong is smarter than Godzilla and it shows. Kong is even better at dodging attacks. But Godzilla had to adapt to another new monster to fight.
Kong proved how smart he was by bowing down to Godzilla. They were both very tired from the last fight.
