If you are looking for an alternative to the low interest rates from your bank and would like to attract a 4.8% annual growth rate without the risk of investing this video is for you. If you want to be better managing your money or if you want to teach your kids about money, this video is for. Download the free app and order your card with this link - bit.ly/HyperJar
But- companies like TUI and Shell are really expensive. You’d benefit way more than 4.8% by buying your fuel at Asda and putting together your own holiday package online or even booking with a cheaper agent!
Sounds like a cashback scheme where you're credited before you spend rather than afterwards. Definitely useful for scenarios when you're absolutely certain that you're going to spend money with particular companies, such as petrol and monthly utility/phone/internet bills. But for people just looking to generally make the most of their money I'd think they could beat the 4.8% advantage by shopping around for lower prices. For example, shopping at Lidl rather than Tescos/Sainsbury's. It's about picking the appropriate tool for the job though, right? Great explainer video Pete, it's really useful to know these tools are out there!
I'm a student and the idea of this sounds brilliant but I don't use any of those brands regularly enough for it to be worth my wild. I loved the idea of recommendations and would include ALL supermarkets and as many stationary / clothing / electronic stores as possible.
A 4.8% annual rate sounds promising. I presume that, in order to get the full benefit, I'd have to put the money in the applicable hyper jar a year In advance. It would be no good depositing the money a month in advance as 4.8% divided by 12 is more like 0.4% and I could get that sort of rate with some easy access savers (plus greater flexibility). So, whether I wanted to do this with money for groceries, petrol, clothes etc, I'd need to plan 12 months in advance and have a year's worth of living costs saved up. That could work well for some people but not so well for others. It's certainly an innovative idea, though!!
Also you would really need to plan where to shop, as if you wanted to do it for groceries there are no supermarkets in the list, I suppose you could shop at Shell garage.
Some of the customer reviews are terrible and hyperjar seems to use stock replies blah blah blah. They DO NOT have phone number for when things go wrong. Come on let us have warts and all review!
Just need to understand something Pete, when for instance you are saving for a holiday and you start saving with Tui, that doesnt mean you have to book a holiday with them does it? When you are ready for your holiday, you are free to withdraw the money or is that how you make the 4.8% by saving and booking with Tui?
No like I said, the money is assigned to be spent with Tui. The 4.8% is a reward for assigning the money in the jar to that brand, they have nothing to gain if they give you 4.8% on you jay balance only to have it withdrawn and spent with a competitor.
@@conversationofmoneyof course, makes sense thanks for the clarification. It would be good to see on there shops like Sainsburys, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi, to name a few.
@@elaibesummers906 They did use to have Lidl, but something must have happened, as it is not on their list anymore. Hyperjar also have a RUclips Channel, but do not allow comments on their videos, I guess they do not want the negative comments.
@@conversationofmoney I did not say there were negative comments, I meant not allowing people to comment is not good sign and they probably do not want negative comments. Especially when you look at the other reviews for HyperJar, they have been going since 2016 and were aiming to get 50 major companies/Jars according to one review and we are in 2021 and they have actually lost partners. So I guess people are not going to leave them positive feedback about that. I think for the children cards it looks good, but for trying to getting 4.8 AGR there is not enough partners for getting that rate on a lot of money.. Correct me if I am wrong, but the one supermarket they had, they no longer have ? I never noticed the popup at the beginning "Include Paid Promotion", may I ask what that means ?
The title is misleading since this is not a savings account with 4.8% interest - there was always going to be a catch with such a high rate. It won't compound, it's more like cashback. Like others have pointed out as well presumably you wouldn't be doing it far in advance so the actual "cashback" is probably worse than cashback cards plus only the more expensive brands are available. Not a good recommendation for you to give in my opinion

You got a referral code for yourself?

Possibly depends on what kind of fuel you put into what kind of car and what kind of holiday you’re looking to book.
I use revolute. almost the same. and has more interesting stuf like exchanges currency with no fees.
Id love to see a “aldi” sponsor. Being a uni student, its the best place money wise
Aldi is a good shout. They are far more competitive on pricing than the likes of Tescos
A novel way of taking control of your finances! All major supermarkets ideally as partners in the future.

Do they have Tesco? If so I'll get one. They should do the tfl also
Tesco isn't on the list of partners currently. They are due to announce new partner soon apparently.

Thanks for such valuable info

The review is based on me using and testing the app and speaking to the guys at HyperJar over the past month not googling reviews on the internet.
Fantastic content

I would love to see Tesco on there
I would love to see ALDI and ASDA
Well explained
I wish I saw this video yesterday

Nice one bro definitely checking it out thanks 😁 🙏🏾
Thanks
netflix gonna be op
Interesting app concept!
I think it's a novel way of trying to give people a better growth rate than what available on the high street currently.
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Sounds amazing Pete
EE
Proof be in pudding in a year. Good business idea
The growth rate is immediately applied to any funds allocated to the jar and brand you select.
