Have you seen the movie, the thin red line? It's a philosophical war movie. In one scene there is a japanese soldier meditating in the midst of the chaotic and brutal battle. Just sitting on the ground in peace. I always think about that scene, when people make up claims that the situation is or thier lives are to blame. I agree, very helpful.

My son came to visit last night and today we took a walk together. It was a beautiful summer morning and I was thrilled to be with him, but we spent much of the time complaining about vaccines and mandates blah blah blah, rather than simply observing the huge sunflowers or the slight autumn tinge in the air. I find myself resisting what is all the time..if only this lockdown was over blah blah..thank you Eckhart your presence alone has a calming effect on me.

In a much bigger way, your resistance is included in your true nature. As well as your non resistance and all ego, thoughts and emotions. Your true nature is all-inclusive, and is loving beyond measure and judgement of you. There is nothing you can do to hide away from your true nature, but you can think that you are separate from it, making it your percieved reality. A kind of optical illusion. I decided I better learn to cope with things as they are, learn stress n anger management skills, so I'm better prepared for life as I move toward action phase. While listening to this, it became clear that too much attention is given to the "chatter self" instead of paying attention to what the heart 💓 is saying. Instantly the mind became still
it can be difficult at times to get of the rollercoaster ride of this "chattering sense of false self" as it literally does not shut up, even for a moment, very opinionated and judgemental and the more attention we give it, the worse it seems to become. You feel completely separated from your Self which is the very lie that we came to believe in. One of the ways that works for me is by slowing the breathing down as much as possible and sometimes even holding the breathe for a moment, breaks the momentum just enough for the attention to start following the breathe which eventually leads to listening and feeling this aliveness within ones Being, the feeling towards the heart. Then somehow listening becomes more easily and a disinterest with the "chattering". May the peace that is already within us is felt by all 💖
Letting go, deep listening, and just doing your own inner work, can stop ego in its tracks. Be vigilant in staying present and in the moment, you have a choice. Do you own inner work, in the moment, in the present.
I'm reading Astavakra Samhita and while reading it Eckhart always comes to my mind. It's like he is living the wisdom of book. He seems like he has realized the Self, living non dualism, not desiring and not resisting. Satchitananda. Truth. Consciousness. Bliss.
It sounds very simple.( but in real life it s difficult to remberber this all the time) Thank you for explaning everything in a simple way, Eckhart. And you make me laugh (about myself)
Just today I avoided 3 confrontations that may have happened as a result of one client not keeping to an appointed time. That led to a whole lot of collision with my other appointments n overall rush in picking my kids up from school. But each time I came face to face with the persons I wanted to scream at, I did not and only stated the fact in a very neutral tone while smiling. It surprised me especially coz I’m quiet the hot headed. I was not practicing presence consciously but somehow I believe listening to Eckhart continuously for the past 1 month have something to do with it. Let’s see how it goes.
thinking is not how the mind is supposed to be used but because of identification with our "I" thoughts, it seems the only logical way. To get rid of this false idea of ourselves we need to stop thinking and in due time it will go away. The correct way is to let our thought processes flow and react to whatever the situation it is we are in and then we choose accordingly how we are to act. Without ever interfering with the thought processes we are able to use our minds as a tool and not get used by it.

As I was listening peacefully to this video about how to become friendly with the present moment, the video was interrupted by an advertisement. I flew into a rage about how this particular present moment was preventing me from listening to the video about how to become friendly with the present moment. I clearly still have some work to do :-D
I don’t disagree but “repentance” or recognizing the faulty ways in your thinking and changing it is one of the first steps for stepping out of unconsciousness that ultimately must be left behind and transcended as everything else should and must be.
Detect in yourself when you have dysfunctional relationship with the present. Then at that moment you have a choice. Dysfunctional state survives only when you are unconscious of it. Then you accept what is. Your action out of presence, not out of resistance, would be more powerful. Thanks Eckhart. 🙏🎯💎🤪🤓🌴🍁🐧

Detect in yourself when you have dysfunctional relationship with the present. Then at that moment you have a choice. Dysfunctional state survives only when you are unconscious of it. Then you accept what is. Your action out of presence, not out of resistance, would be more powerful.
