I really like the new videos but I sure do miss the play by play of the full race with Dave's commentary. It really helped motivate me and gave me good pointers and tips on obstacles in the previous years. I sure hope they return to that again eventually.

Yes, the 2019 series coverage was beyond great!

Added the same comment myself to the last women’s race. These videos are alright, but they pale in comparison to 2019’s. As an aside, I’m bummed that neither the men’s nor the women’s video showed the newer Olympus. I haven’t had but one rep (2019 Carolina Ultra, which was a rainy, freezing, muddy mess) so looking to see how these athletes traverse it.

Really nice work on this! Love the drone coverage and the good mix of trail footage, obstacle footage and enough verbal information, well done! Would love even more footage in the video but understand the time constraints

These ladies are incredible. Lindsay is always so composed throughout each race. She doesn't look like she's expending nearly as much energy as her opponents yet she usually comes out on top.

Thanks for the vid! But you could revise the extremely strict and also a bit draconian rule of having Emma fail the obstacle simply because she had touched the thing. She hadn't even left the pedestal yet!

It’s elite so the rules are different same with age group once you commit and actually touch the bar on bender, beater, helix you can’t try again it was clear Emma did in fact jumped and grab the bar but if u notice certain elites or age group they have to commit cause they understand the rules of spartan.

Might want to fix the opening graphic that says 'Men's Elite Race Coverage'. 43 seconds in.

What a race! Nice to see the young guns coming up to replace the OGs. Mericle's Dream Team is showing that they are serious contenders already! Thank so much for such great coverage Spartan!

Thank you for this coverage! Can someone from Spartan Race please clarify why both Annie & Lindsay aren't penalized at the Z-Wall for using the support posts? I've heard your announcers say at multiple races that racers are not allowed to use those when navigating through Z-Wall, but starting at 25:25 you can see both ladies very clearly wrapping their hands/ arms around these posts.

Official rules say you're allowed to use the uprights. See rules pp. 44-45.

It is. Her and Ryan Atkins are, as far as I've read, testing some out for some company.

12:55 - Looks like Spartan is now enforcing the rule where leaving the platform and returning is a failure. 16:00 - Those monkey bars were slippery this race! Great battle for the finish!

She never “left” the platform, she touched the bar and some camera guy enforced a ruling??? Spartan? You fail an obstacle if you touch, but not commit? And since when does a camera man have authority to enforce rules?

@@danielhermangr7798 Look again. She clearly jumped off the platform onto the first bar and then dropped off to the platform again. This is a failure according to Spartan Rules 2021, page 38, on single-attempt obstacles: "A competitor is considered to have attempted the obstacle once both of their feet have left the starting step." I am glad to see this rule after being stuck behind an Age Group racer once who thought he could return to the Beater platform as many times as he wanted while trying to figure out the obstacle.
