SCCA will not allow SA2005 helmets after the end of this year. The rule is generally "current and previous two", so starting 1/1/2021 only SA2020, SA2015, and SA2010 will be allowed.

I also like to buckle in all the passenger seatbelts that are not in use that way they are not banging around while autocrossing

Not a bad idea, but we've also tried that and had them mess with the seat occupancy sensors. Like, the belts were don elope, but there was no weight in the seat, so here's a dinging noise for you because maybe someone fell our or really needs a cheeseburger. Try before the moment of truth.

Thank you so much. I learned a lot. Now as I build my Edsel. I may plan accordingly.

WASH MY CAR!! I would never.
That brake fluid tester is neat, good idea fir a track day.
Dont forget to check your registered number and pack, tape, helmet, water, bin, air gage, hat/sunscreen.

The brake fluid being the color of RC Cola should have been the first tipoff, but the tester definitely confirmed it was ready for something new.

Also: Take down all that sh*t you have hanging from your mirror, and if you have 35 lbs of keys hanging from your keyring, take your car key off it!

Check all them fluids, oil, coolant, brakes, atf. Inspect your belts, hoses and clean your air filter or replace it..
Bring distilled water, for the car..bring lots of water for yourself. If you can, bring extra hoses and belts just in case, and a toolbox..think about what stuff might let go or fail if you push your car too hard. It happens out there. Better to bring it and not need it, than need it and not have it imo. Most Autocross drivers I have seen are pretty much in tune with their cars maintenance and state of repair, cuz you need to be in order to be safe, and to confidently attack the course. So if you dont know how to check your fluids and brakes etc, spend a few bucks at your local shop and have it done. Better that, than a blown head gasket, or worse.
    One last thing
    Have Fun!!

Thanks for the advise but one thing I would like to add is to ensure your alignment isn't off because the last thing you want is to think about how much steering you need to go straight because I'm gearing up to do my first autocross with my B15 Spec-V and the alignment is a little wack

Is a syphon tool or suction pump a safe way to change the engine oil vs the common gravity drain?

I hope you're doing well. I don't want to alarm you, but you are the future of the scca.
I started out with autocross at 26, now I'm 33, I compete wheel 2 wheel endurance racing and hpde/time attack\trial. I hope our careers cross at some point in time.

Marketing shreds us at paintball every quarter, so they get to post whatever they want whenever they want, and we just get welts.

Someone does something nice and useful, and they complain about it. Clearly an autocrosser 🤪
