In Hell's Kitchen, two teams compete for the prestigious job of head chef at a top restaurant, all under the guidance of world-class fiery chef Gordon Ramsay.
gordon was not ready for this gens humor bc the way steve’s “i’m a vegetarian on thursdays” caught him off guard makes me laugh so hard
It was pretty standard humor, delivered dry. That's kinda a staple of Ramsay's generation in the UK.
What was great about it was how quick the guy put it together.
@@ConstantlyDamaged Yeah, that's classic dry wit, which is a staple for the UK. It was the perfect timing without missing a beat, and the matching pace that just caught everyone off guard. It isn't often that Gordon invites someone else to also taste a competition dish without him first identifying something strictly bad about the dish.
I'm shocked they didn't use Matt's Exotic Tartare as an example of an "unexplainable signature dish" lol

It was SO unexplainable, they couldn’t even mention it.
Or the fact that they didn't show Antonia's gumbo for the disgusting example.

Some of these young chefs look like they about to turn 40, that chef life be stressful.
Theres a reason a lot of them smoke - and it shows.
The premise of this season is basically Gordon doubling down on the criticism that he often picks the younger chef as the winner, but eliminating all older chefs from even entering.
Well yeah, Gordon Ramsay doesn’t want somebody over 40 with half a foot in the grave.

In case you didn't know, Matthew used to be in Buzzfeed in Tasty channel and his signature dish is the same as that he cooked on Tasty channel.
the audience is so much better than the times he was in a studio and the audience always went "mmmhhh, ahhhhhh, ohhhhhh"

Now now guys. Remember how Nikki(S19) made the same mistake with forgetting how to clean her shrimp and she managed to improve after that making it to 6th place. Maybe Matthew will learn from this and bounce back like Nikki did😉

I worked as a sous chef in a couple kitchens 20 years ago. I still call out "Right behind you" whenever I pass behind someone in their kitchen. It's like calling out "On belay?" when rock climbing. A learned reflex.
I just worked in a family restaurant as the busboy, did it for 6 years, and I still do the exact same thing whenever I walk behind somebody. Whether I'm in the house or in a store in a relatively small aisle, it's second nature to me now. No matter where you are, nobody likes to take that small step backwards and bump into somebody, even if both pairs of hands are empty.

You can see that Gordon Ramsay goes so soft on the new generation. If it is previous seasons with the shrimp not deveined, he will definitely call that disgusting and will not even take a bite.
Steven was a very strong competitor throughout this season, calm and composed. Plus, he has a great name. We both spell our names the same way.
