The new swap stations can hold up to 13 battery packs, that equivalent to 13 power chargers lined up. Due the math 13 times 6 minutes = 78 minutes. One charge takes what 35 to 40 minutes. The swap station can send power back to the grid. Battery swaps are only a option for the NIO owner, you can still charge your car at home or at a public charger. It is nice to have the second option, reduces the fear of battery degradation.
It is very efficient and convenient. Although the initial investment is very large for NIO, it is a good idea for NIO car owners. NIO plans to build 4,000 battery swap stations in the global market by 2025.
@MrShark007 The initial cost of NIO's first-generation battery swap station in China is about 3 million RMB, or about 430,000 US dollars. Second-generation battery swap station costs 50% less. NIO has lost $5.7 billion since its birth in 2014 and has never made a profit.😂
@@巫行云 okay, but actually if you do the math. In Europe, BaaS cost for a 100kwh battery €260/month -> €3000 per year per user. So, 100 Nio cars per Swap station would already generate €300 000 annually. And I think there could easily be 500 Nio users per Swap station here in Europe
Feels like NIO Swap Station 2.0 in China would perform quicker than this presentation. It usually takes 3 to 4 mins for a battery swap for ES6 SUV. Love this Battery Swap solution, especially for the highway travel.
The actual process starts once inside the station as the user would initiate the swap after agreeing the T&C's. I think they will announce the version 3.0 swap station which should be under 3 mins.
This car is the most convinient. I dont know how they are evan able to sell cars that charge overnight or several hours? that is ridicules like you are waiting for comunity bus by the schedule...idea of owning a car is to be autonomus at any goven moment and NIO is the only EV that can perform that. this company is the future!

Thought it was around 150k each that was before they made there own factory
Nio’s cars are so sexy looking!
Battery swapping keeps NIO Cars safe from faster devaluation for longer time.

Still slow compared to Geely's 1 minute swap station
@@gadgetgasspoll And how many Geely swap stations are available to the public?
what size/KW is Geely's battery? is it orange to an apple?
I clap at the end too😂, looking forward to UK launch.
Car looks amazing!
The car looks sexy
I love NIO ❤️❤️❤️
If I had the money I would buy all the old car washes around town and build these.
1:22 6 min swap, nice

NIO✨✌️
Best een ruim vak getekend voor het station. Software zou dan goed moeten kunnen omgaan met variantie in aan komen rijden.
I still don't understand why the car needs to be lifted, can someone clear this up?
If you attempt to change the battery without supporting the body the suspension could jounce and interfere with the process.
@@DailyBeatings Could be a reason, but I do think that the whole swapping process can be optimized in many ways, cheers!
@@Got2Learn Third generation stations doesn't lift the cars.
is it allready known how many swap stations holland will get?
Several will open in the next weeks, I’d say 10-20 stations for 2023 should be possible.
@@electricfelix for real... 10-20 in holland alone? you know the city's by any change?
@@Marcel-tw9iz Utrecht should be coming soon. They will announce more stations in January.
apart from just battery swap this station also update your car to latest version
Mark! haha!
Why everyone puts their hands up? I mean seriously why?
You probably know the answer yourself.
Of course to show that it is fully automatic for people which have not ever seen the whole process.
