Samurai Shodown III: Blades of Blood was released in the arcades on November 15, 1995. It is the third game in SNK's Samurai Shodown series of fighting games. While it is the third game in the main series, it is the first part of a two-chapter story that is chronologically set between the events of Samurai Shodown and Samurai Shodown II.

Somebody had stole this CD from me back in the 90's high school year... And hid my book-bag in the girls bathroom where my PSX was in it, but the Samurai Showdown was missing...
Shedding a tear having to see this video... Thanks.
Why did you even PUT your PSX in your backpack?
I thought I was surrounded by nice people??
Donnie (eimaXe) That still doesn't make sense why you should even BRING your console with you everywhere
Because we all socialize battles, everyone brings their own shit to school every Friday to dual it out. There was no fucking online multi player in the 90's. Fucking trolls, go live back in your cave... There are too many of them migrating in the RUclips scene.
Donnie (eimaXe) How exactly am I a troll? I just asked a question. Quit being defensive
So much respect for this game
For a fighting game that has the FPS of a mobius strip?
so much game for this respect
I still have this game. Man the load times were long even back then.
Also the first non commentary longplay of this game on RUclips, there's also one for Saturn someone else did. Pay attention to the backgrounds in this game, especially the second battle against Genjuro (the first is just a disguised Kuroko), notice the kids playing, and how quickly they scatter. The last kid stands there dumbfounded till his mother rushes over to usher him away from the scene. SNK was known for little touches like this, you can see it in the early KoF games as well.
Use to love playing snk/neo geo games in the arcade. System was do damn expensive!
Still is.
Just the sprite work alone is making me wanna play this game
This is not being played on PS1 hardware. The actual game on the PS1 runs at about 10-12 fps and the janky flashes in the animation take you completely out of the game.
one of my favorite games in the 90s
The good thing about this version is the soundtrack.
If I had a dollar for every loading second, I'd be rich.
You would have like 27 dollars.
I kept skipping certain segments of the video to see some game play, but all I ever kept seeing was *"NOW LOADING"*
Top demaisss o PlayStation 1 marcou minha vida 😀😅😅😥😣
Man I used to play this and every match I always finish them off by slicing them in half. xD
One of my favourite games!!! #SamuraiShowdown III .My favourite character from the series #Genjuro #Kibagami!!!!! Yo!! #WorldfOfLongplays Y'all are the best!!! #Respect
The Saturn version ate this alive. This port was ALL OVER THE PLACE.
Only good thing about this port was the ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE arranged ost. I had some great times back in the day playing it, but it was a chore and could only be tolerated at the time due to lack of anything immediately accessible in my area. The Neogeo/Mame Rom is great. But is missing this top quality soundtrack which I wish I could find a way to hack into the game somehow. People diss thus game too much, but it had the best stages and themes. Rimururu having her family appear in the 2nd round to watch her victory, or her imminent death before their eyes comes to mind. Also this is clearly emulated. The music did not cut out like that at the end of matches ever.
Saturn version has the soundtrack too, except it actually feels like the arcade game unlike this. It’s such a night and day difference to the point it was a shock.
Point to ponder; according to anime lore, Shiro Amakusa (main villain in the first game) was the former leader of the Japanese Christian uprising against the Shogunate who at some point developed a Messiah complex.
I have the anime on my channel
Wow this really puts into perspective how unsophisticated modern games are. The stylistic art still looks good. A remaster, mainly better colour and higher framerate, is all you need.
And the load times really aren't bad; this is ps1.
Do you know that this is a port of a Neo-Geo game?, the Neo-Geo is from 1990 and on that system this game moves smooth as hell, with much more colors and resolution and Zero loading times. The Ps1 sucked very hard fro 2D games.
Of course the art style looks good, in fact it looks Awesome and always will. This game was made when the Art style was everything in a good game, nowdays people values artistic style very little, and that makes games looks lame.
DieHard300. Do you think? Check out good examples: Street Fighter Alpha, Gunbird, Strikers 1945, X2, Gunners Heaven, Captain Commando, among others.
Please don’t judge this game based on this version. The arcade and Saturn versions eat this for lunch, dinner, and the next mornings breakfast. I remember having huge respect for the arcade game back in the day even if it was a broken mess for gameplay. But seeing the PS1 version for the first time was a disaster even back then.
26:26 Un Dato Curioso. Verdad.
These load times. If anything, the PSX was weak in the memory department.
The ps1 is a waste of money.
This port was an affront against God and Man.
Miror match theme probably the best in this game !
seems like a pretty good game might download this
Kurama. Get it for mame with a neo geo bios rom.
I remember this game when I played it on the wii
The ps2 loads faster
Which should NEVER have happened because the Wii version should’ve took advantage of the extra RAM and loaded the entire game.

The first ever Sam Sho game I ever bought and owned (got way more now though), found it at a Circuit City back in the day, still have it. I didn't know of a PS1 release despite buying EGM and Gamepro at the time, was surprised to see it, hurried up and bought it. Not a great port, still worth playing despite the flaws it has.
Saturn ports quite nice as well, with shorter load times due to having to have to use a RAM cart for it. I bought that one long after the PS1 and PS2 versions (via SS Anthology on the PS2).
Bought it in the 90s and never notice any flaws that people spoke about. I always liked 3 over 4 as 4 was suppose to be better..
If you play it for fun, the flaws won't be noticed, heck the only thing that bugged me with 3's release was the load times, yikes there were many. I'm also on the same train of thought with liking 3 more than 4.
Haha. This game actually looks better on the Neo Geo. The PSX hardware really wasn't very good.
I don't think it was that the PSX hardware wasn't really good so much as it Neo Geo hardware was just WAYYYYYY ahead of its time. But then again, PS ports of arcade classics like X-Men vs Street Fighter and Street Fighter Alpha kinda missed the mark so....you might have a point.
PS hardware could have done it, but SNK ports seemed to be carry overs of the neo geo cd versions.
The PS1 sucks.
@@maxxdahl6062honestly, no. The ps1 had 2MB of ram while the neo CD had 7MB (although it was split up in different areas, i.e. 4MB for graphics). I'm pretty sure the neo CD's loading times were the issue for animation cuts (and even then, still not as bad as ps1)
@@megahedgehog2039 It at least should have been better than it was, that was almost inexcuseable. KOF 99 was much better of a ps1 port.
Loading Shodown III.
Esse jogo é muito dez PS1 pai dos vídeogames
If one watches the Japanese PS1 long play of this, and then this one, one will notice the speed difference, SNK really botched the Japanese version when it came to that. The rest couldn't be helped, but the slowdown in the Japanese version could, as proven by the western version.
fighter choose click sound is cool)
Does SCHLAUCHI have a RUclips account of his/her own?
The long wretched loading screens....
And the fact that it looks like a font from Crash Bandicoot lmao
Quick question for everyone which samurai showdown is the best in your opinion and which character would love to see in Soulcailbur 6
does it have magic?
Stupid loading...
Stupid? It's clever, in a good and positive way. No leading times would mean the game would be boring and bugged.
@@UltramanMebiusBrave No the Ps1 is a waste of money.
Play the PS2 SS 3.
Play The Neo Geo SS 3.
It's like an old Amiga500 with all the loading lol
He has an inferior...wtf does that mean?
awesome
Darkstalkers 3 would load much faster.
The arcade version was infinitely superior and didn't take all this time to load.
what's shlauchi?
German
Genjuro stance has, like, two frames of animation.

the luxe
This port was really awkward for some reason.
Is a emulator
Got to be. It never looked this fluid on actual hardware.
neo CD was so much better
SSIV was better imo
Nah. This port sucks. Try the ps4..
Esse demora carregar o jogo hein kkkk
Eh.....I'll stick with my Saturn version.
Personally I own both, so I play both.
@@Bloodreign1 the only thing is that the Saturn is still missing features from the arcade.
I know you have this set on the easiest level possible
Why does this ever matter to anyone? Who gives a shit? Are you watching this because you're super interested in some random person's skill against the cpu? What a fucking loser
Forgot the long PSX loading time ... Next time try original or Saturn version :)
neo geo*
loading simulator
This was a horrible port. Long load times, slow gameplay, and tons of missing frames of animation. The Saturn version was so much better.
I dont have a Saturn. So, what is this fact worth for me?
Neo Geo and ps2 pwn you
The PSX sucks at 2D. This and KOF 95 were shit, while the Saturn ones were the same shit as the arcade.
terrible port. missing tons of frames, the original was a frame monster... sound effects lower quality and frame rate is ass. shame on psx port
