I am a Phillies fan who has lived in Pittsburgh and made a lot of dear friends there who are Pirate fans.
Those years when the Pirates snapped their streak of futility and made it into the postseason reminded me a lot of our 1993 season, and I will admit - I was actually rooting for them to do well that season, because as a fan, I know what it feels like to see your team have success after being down so far for so long.
If both PA teams are ever good at the same time and meet in the postseason, that will be even more fun for my friends and me.
