I'm 41. I often think music (and humanity) is dead, all has been done, all is finished. And then without revolution you do this : and i'm full of hope again.
I remember everything So I can't take back anything Unless that's how I'm meant to feel Find myself a better deal So maybe I better tie this up I bet it all goes wrong Do what they say, say, say Could do with a drop of rain I know when it's not okay Can't keep my head down Don't like whenever I'm not in pain Peeling back not noticing The blood and bones beneath my skin Feelings that we can't compare Taking chances anywhere So maybe I can't care too much I can't clean this up Just do what they say, say, say Could do with a drop of rain I know when it's not okay Can't keep my head down Don't like Whenever I'm not in pain Whenever I try complain To you we are all the same Can't keep my mouth shut this time Is that what they say, say, say Love is raised by common thieves Hiding diamonds up their sleeves Always I did it for you Never felt so sure You're my best machine You're my midnight sun Always I did it for you I remembered every line If we go through it one more time So show me how to split the real Get me off this spinning wheel So baby I better turn this up I hope it drowns you out Is that what they say, say, say Could do with a drop of rain It's that why it's so mundane Can't keep my eyes closed too long Whenever I'm not in pain Whenever I try explain To you we are not the same Can't keep my hands up far from Is that what they say, say, say Love is raised by common thieves Hiding diamonds up their sleeves Always I did it for you Never felt so sure You're my best machine You're my midnight sun Always I did it for you Love is raised by common thieves Hiding diamonds up their sleeves Always I did it for you Never felt so sure You're my best machine You're my midnight sun Always I did it for you
Not even fussed about head scratch'n over these lyrics much yet, just such a haunting symphony of vocal poetry and thoroughbred string, snare n' sticky work, woof ...my head howl'n.
It’s such a lovely tune, well written and performed, filled with nostalgia as its kinda reminescent to me of one 90s hit that I really love - 7 seconds by Youssou N’Dour (more than Radiohead - would love to hear her cover Talk Show Host tho it would fit her style) I can’t wait to see her live in Paris, she seems to be a great musician as well of a unique singer
wo.. i didnt' think of that but i'm v familiar w slint. in hindsight i could see what you mean -- prob bc the incessant repeating of the pattern? then the drop to the song structure? these guys remind me of a bunch of my fav artists but still sound so much like themselves. loving it! I'm hoping to see them on the tour this spring
For it to sound like slint we kinda need to hear what the song before and after sound like on the album and how it sits. I can kind of hear it with the fuzz outro and interesting arrangement though. Good shout. She’s so effortlessly gorgeous and natural, gonna be a star for sure.
Love this song. Heard it by chance when watching No Hard Feelings. Amazing tune that is reminiscent of your influences. Mesmerised that you're also from the West London area and have such an interesting background...Turkish/Irish/Barbadan...what a fortunate mix of parents to raise you.
Love so many things about the song - swinging beat, acoustic guitar from 1:40 and fuzz from 3:20. It probably sounds weird but I am picking up some Led Zeppelin vibes - When The Levee Breaks etc. It could end up as my favourite song from Nilüfer.
Incredible song! Saw your performance on The Tonight Show and stopped dead in my tracks. I'm an instant fan. Thanks for ... being, ...and continue your great work!
I love this new feel I'm getting from your music! It gently floats my soul to higher levels. It's how your melodies floats your beautiful voice including how the very creative supportive drum rhythms delightfully bounces me around. It's your turn to be recognized!
With this second album painless! Nilufer music progressing nicely on her musical path! And can't wait to catch this song live at brixton academy 16 March anticipation abounds 😎
👍 Absolutely brilliant. A few cross-checkings with other songs and live performances later on internet prove it is not an accident. A very talented young woman, indeed. How is it possible I never heard of her before???
My good music taste brought me here
The way this unfolds into fuzzy, shoegazed-bliss towards the end is utter perfection.
Randomly typed in "Midnight Sun" to see what songs would pop up...talk about a fucking win
Wow, you really lucked out!
"love is raised by common thieves hiding diamonds up their sleeves" ALWAYS I DID IT FOR YA
heard this song yesterday at the movie theatre when i watched "boogeyman" great song. nice feelings.
Me too I just watch it tonight and Shazam-ed it😂
I’m in ❤❤❤❤❤ love with this
Slightly reminds me of Radiohead? Took a second for the song to sink in, but now I'm obsessed. 2 for 2!
I had the same thought. Definitely getting Radiohead vibes from this.
@@SkaterKonks to me in Stabilise already.
The guitars and bass have a 90's vibe about them with more modern beat structure.
Yep 💜
Exactly radiohead main riff with Zeppelin vibes on the chorus - track is so goood she never disappoints
Top 10 song of the year quality
One of the most exciting young artists I've come across in a long time
UK constantly delivering...
UK is musically impressive.
@@bergspot Sweden, UK , States , Canada and Australia..... Germany is also very good...
I'm 41. I often think music (and humanity) is dead, all has been done, all is finished. And then without revolution you do this : and i'm full of hope again.
she is so ridiculously good. wtf
She seriously never misses, I'm always impressed at how versatile her sound is! Can't wait to see her in March
It reminds me also of Radiohead but also Trixie Whitley :)
How was it ?
Her voice though always sounds exactly the same from the start of finish except for the pitch which is not my cup of tea at all..
It starts like Radiohead and then ends like My Bloody Valentine. You reconcilied 2 of my favorites.
haha its very radioheadd yesss
yes, but very Team Sleep too
Thanks boogeyman 2023 for this great discovery... 1:49 hits different
Been on repeat ever since I came across it
Discovered her a week ago. I haven't stopped listening since. Love love love this.
Begins as an AIR track then morphs into a kicking Smashing Pumpkins, swoooon 😍
I remember everything
So I can't take back anything
Unless that's how I'm meant to feel
Find myself a better deal
So maybe
I better tie this up
I bet it all goes wrong
Do what they say, say, say
Could do with a drop of rain
I know when it's not okay
Can't keep my head down
Don't like whenever I'm not in pain
Peeling back not noticing
The blood and bones beneath my skin
Feelings that we can't compare
Taking chances anywhere
So maybe
I can't care too much
I can't clean this up
Just do what they say, say, say
Could do with a drop of rain
I know when it's not okay
Can't keep my head down
Don't like
Whenever I'm not in pain
Whenever I try complain
To you we are all the same
Can't keep my mouth shut this time
Is that what they say, say, say
Love is raised by common thieves
Hiding diamonds up their sleeves
Always I did it for you
Never felt so sure
You're my best machine
You're my midnight sun
Always I did it for you
I remembered every line
If we go through it one more time
So show me how to split the real
Get me off this spinning wheel
So baby
I better turn this up
I hope it drowns you out
Is that what they say, say, say
Could do with a drop of rain
It's that why it's so mundane
Can't keep my eyes closed too long
Whenever I'm not in pain
Whenever I try explain
To you we are not the same
Can't keep my hands up far from
Is that what they say, say, say
Love is raised by common thieves
Hiding diamonds up their sleeves
Always I did it for you
Never felt so sure
You're my best machine
You're my midnight sun
Always I did it for you
Love is raised by common thieves
Hiding diamonds up their sleeves
Always I did it for you
Never felt so sure
You're my best machine
You're my midnight sun
Always I did it for you

So happy I heard this song amongst all the songs released these days........ forever on my playlist.

I can sort of hear when the levee breaks
Weird fishes too
That acoustic guitar stuff gives me motorpsycho vibes
you mean playing chords with a slide?
A musical angel outside Lloyds of London.

Your music is seriously amazing-and I have listened to music since my yoot in the seventies!
Acabo de descubrir esta cancion, me encanta su simpleza capaz de hacerte sentir cosas mientras la escuchas ❤
ARTIST!!
I think back to “7 Seconds” Youssou N’Dour and Neneh Cherry
I cannot stop listening to this! 🥰💥
Sounds like a Jorge Ben rythm + Sonic Youth guitars. Amazing song.
