- Here's my retake of the recursive displacement I did a while ago. We go for much more detail, precise surface, and smooth motion. I really hope you like this.

This is my favorite TouchDesigner tutorial ever.
Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and techniques!
Wow ...thank you so much
this is amazing your knowledge of what u re doing is awesome
please aloud me this later edit: displace weight should be according to the ratio - in this case, 16/9 for Y; I forgot about it :) always test for the crazy ratio to check if the vectors are correct. Thank you
This was soo easy to follow through! Coming from Houdini the amount of similarities, even in shortcuts is amazing!!!
this is my all-time favourite technique of yours. thank you for this sequel 🤩

awesome
ador
Really cool to make a tutorial about it
thank you so much
been loving all your tutorials, thanks always paketa! was wondering if it’s possible to ever make this technique seamless/loopable? ie. first frame = last frame over a set duration
thank you, as for the looping part, I'll go more deeply into that. I'm not so sure but everything has a little doubt at the beginning :)
@@paketa12 haha of course, looking forward to it if you manage to crack it 🙏
cool
Hey! Loving the tutorial so far. Quick question, for some reason every time I drag in the .tox file you provide in the comments section, it does not seem to load in there. I created a sub folder under my components and still it does not load in. Any ideas? thank you!
From my first Null to the feedback all i get is a grey square and the noise is lost. I change noise from simplex 3D to perlin 3d and then it works....Not sure what is wrong as i do exacly what you say? Love the tutorial- i learned loads
any thought on how to loop it?
i almost get it looping the noises and lowering the oppacity of the level of the feedback but the feedback stills slip away a little in the loop haha
great tutorial! I am a first time user and I've just gone to the end of your tutorial, my only issue is that it looks nothing like yours lol, I've gone thru the steps several times but not sure where I went wrong, but the texture isnt as rippley, any suggestions? thank you so much!
Hi, I think the problem is that the displace should be set to: Horizontal source = Red, Vertical source = Green. Hope this helps
hmmm i love this effect and everything worked fine on the original version of the tutorial but for some reason on this one (and I've gone back many times to ensure ive followed correctly) the feedback loop just fades to black slowly when the level top is added...any help surrounding this issue? everything else is working.
after watching this i feel like learning more image theory, does anybody know a good source?
1:58 I can't select "CHOP Refrence"... When I drag it to the pulse button it just adds it without asking me for that thing and it doesn't work
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? I can't use keyboard ins because of this :(
don't drag the CHOP, but turn on the viewer (Plus symbol on the lower right of the Keyboard In CHOP), then when you put the mouse into it, it turns into a little "^" symbol. THAT means you can create a reference. Just dragging the CHOP doesn't work.
