SHOW-YA are absolute legends! They have been kicking ass since 1981 (minus a brief hiatus between 1998-2004). A couple weeks ago they celebrated their 35th (active) anniversary with an online live concert stream and it was really great.
You made my morning. So few people here know about this band, but they should be in the HOF. You can hear the Deep Purple influence in a lot of their production.I wish I'd found them 30 years earlier. This concert was from 2012, their 30'th anniversary with this lineup (they were founded in 1981, guitarist Miki Igarashi joined in 1982). They nurtured the entire generation of all-female rock and metal acts that are tearing it up today.
Absolutely...the trail blazers who made it possible for a lot of today's great female bands to form and make a name for themselves as they made many people take female musicians seriously when everyone expected them to be vocalist!!!!
The super female group that has outlast many other competitors in the Japanese scene. Great stage work, you want attitude then you want Show-Ya. Great songs over the years and always amazing LIVE. They play better than most bands a lot younger them. Ideal Japanese Festival Show-Ya, Lovebites, Band Maid, Mary's Blood, Aldious, Scandal, etc.... The female talent out of Japan these days is just insane. Tell me most those bands wouldn't kick a$$ at any concert or festival. Love the reaction guys as always. Careful now, that J/Metal-Rock rabbit hole is getting deeper and deeper!!!!
ARIGATO for the nice reaction! I want many people to know SHOW-YA. SHOW-YA is the pioneer of japanese "LADY METAL " bands. They have many good songs. Please react "SHOOTING STAR 196X(MV 2012). I like the strong beat of drums.
They were formed in 1981. They are pushing 60 and still rocking. They are metal but has enough catchness to their song. I love band-maid the best, but show-ya is my second favorite now. Maybe I'm a bit biased because they are closer to my age.

Show-Ya the mother of female hard rock and metal bands. Founded 1981 - since 1985 they also organize the yearly "Naon no Yaon" Open-Air festival to promote female Rock and Metal Band. A lot of Japanase Metal Bands made their first steps to success there: Dextrose, Gacharic Spin, Cynthia, Band-Maid, Dolls$Box, Marys Blood, Birder, Nemophila, Trident, Hagane and more. Great Musik and support for Japanese female bands.
